If either Love on Top or End of Time got the video budget and promo slots as Run the World did, I think the opening number could have been bigger. The Oprah audience, for example would have probably liked Love on Top MUCH more, and End of Time being more of a pop song than Run the World, they probably would have liked that more too. Premiering one of those videos on American Idol would probably have helped it more too. Everyone gave RTW at Billboard rave reviews, but if that technique was done for EOT I think it would have boosted sales more than it did for RTW.
I love the song, but its truly not a radio song. It's not that catchy, the singing style is very quick and punchy, the instrumentals are frenetic and "weird". It took me a while to warm up to it, but I gave it the chance. The GP doesn't really do that.
