Harlem Shake got to number one thanks to UNOFFICIAL 30 seconds videos by random (not official) Youtube channels.

Does Billboard scan all videos on Youtube? How is it possible?

For example, if I sang Rihanna's "Right Now" in the shower and it gained like 600K views in one week, would Billboard find out about the video and count the views? If yes, how would you find out? Youtube has many videos.

In other words, I see a big hole in BB streaming rules.

Hey Bill, I was just wondering will artists' chart archive profile ever be fixed? Most, if not all, have major glitches. Either they don't list all of them, or they're ranked incorrectly (I notice this typically for "older" artists).

And can there be a function added to where you click the song, you can see that week of the chart where it placed the highest (like on the old layout)? Going back to see older charts is such a mess now days.

And also some album covers on the Billboard 200 seem to be incorrect. For example:

I think someone else asked this already, but do you think radio should play less of a significant role on the charts considering American radio is more corrupt than radio stations in Africa and Asia (for example, Right Now and Take Back The Night are always on the radio but no one's buying it in real life)? The reality was - and this is from memory so I could be off a little - the Eagles sold roughly twice as many copies as Britney that week. The Eagles unquestionably had the top v selling album in the US that week and so the head of the charts dept made the call that the charts being accurate was the most important thing.

It was definitely the right decision. Were you guys worried at all when you initially added YouTube to the streaming component and Harlem Shake looked like it might be #1 for the rest of the year? A lot of people were questioning Billboard's credibility at the time over it.

I agree pretty much with the streaming overall, but I don't see the purpose of including short-length (30-1 minute) videos. For example Harlem Shake was an internet sensation, but not a musical one. Same goes for Gentlemen. People watched the video, but didn't care enough to hear the song. It looks inaccurate on the charts for songs like that.
