Circus is cohesive but it's very bland and half the songs are void of Britney emotion.

That's exactly what I think of Circus, I think the songs go well together, hence making it cohesive, but they do not really stand out. Really the singles + Amnesia + Blur, removing Unusual You and adding Phonography are shines there.

Phonography is pure pop preciosity.

Gaga's underperformance really surprised me, making me even scared of how The Queen will do it this time around, I'm still expecting the usual front-loading for the lead single tho...

HIAM was really a good choice for a first single, had she released it as a second or third single, she would have two flops instead of just Criminal...

Britney and her team are not that messy. If something was in trouble of leaking, they get ON it (see "Womanizer"). That Smurfs song doesn't count, nobody cared about that. BO demos leaked and Perez got threatened with prison time.

Plus, I'm not worried about Britney's lead. I'm confident her and the awesome producers have cooked up a wonderful project that will change the tides from the direction they were heading post-Femme Fatale.
