You can turn the notifications on or off. It defaults to being off already and you would have to modify what you want to be notified of. It's sort of like having a twitter app on your smart phone, you can adjust what notifications appear in your notification center (mentions, DMs, Retweets, favorites, etc). It's the one feature that I love the most on the new software.

Question for a mod, someone from twitter said they created an account 2 years ago and have confirmed their email but it's not letting them post. Are they doing something wrong, or does their email still have to be confirmed on your end?

Other than what you mentioned, inappropriate account name, failure to confirm email, ummm that's all I can think of at the moment
