I don't want anyone to cut themself for any reason...but is it bad of me that I want someonr to write a good parody of Applause called "Chainsaws" and make a video of it with lady lumberjacks in leather wielding chainsaws; not necessarily cutting down trees but they could be cutting down stuff that represents actual female repressions and persecutions, and destroying metaphorical glass ceilings etc.
And I'm not rooting for Gaga to fail either. She's human like any of us and critics/fans of other artists will jump on her if they smell blood just like they did and do on Taylor. It all goes in cycles it seems like, for most massive top stars and just like Taylor and Gaga have been on top popularity and critically and then had public and critics alike turn on them, I think Katy is getting the top-tier treatment now and will see her own backlash someday.
And to be honest, tho im not a big Gaga fan, I think she did bring more originality to the table at first to deserve her shine-time vs. Katy just seems very generic and safe to me, with a less interesting and just as problematic voice ad Taylor's, pitch-wise. I feel like Taylor's songwiting ismuch better than Katy's and less formulaic (when she doesn't collaborate with pop cookie-cutter song doctors like MM)
Jmho. Also my opinion may be somewhat affected by my opinion that Katy kinda screwed Taylor over by taking up with mayer after he did his number on Taylor. And Katy singing his praise and acting like he's the greatest guy in the world. Kinda like knifing her supposed friend in back for a d-bag ex of said friend.
