To be fair, it's a bit premature to call "Applause" a bomb, although "undeperformance" is not an innapropriate title. She's selling almost 100k less than Edge of Glory first week, which was at the time a promo single from Born This Way. It's like if Taylor's next lead single sold less than "Begin Again".

But it's not "Take Back the Night" uber flop territory.
