Besides, video is really important in markets like UK, so that would surely help it take the crown there next week.

And she had no hype for Applause yet. We all know Gaga needs hype and promo for her singles to take off.

And none of her lead singles (with the exception of BTW) did great numbers first week.

So Applause is doing great. It's #5 in US and Top 10 in most markets. It's not like it's not even Top 20.
