Probably not, but I don't see how that means anything. A song can still do well without going #1. Let's not forget that one of Gaga's most iconic hits, Bad Romance, didn't peak at #1.

Not saying that Applause will perform like BR, but it shows that a #1 peak doesn't mean much. Roar is massive but there's a big possibility that it won't go #1 either.

Do you all remember when We Can't Stop started free falling off iTunes Top 10 & people's opinions on the songs were generally very negative? The video sent its sales back up to the Top 2 & with that opinions suddenly switched from negative/underwhelmed to positive, & people began saying it was one of the best pop songs of the year.

The Grammy performance also sort of did this for "Suit & Tie". Although "S&T" is an infinitely better song than "We Can't Stop" in my opinion. And I have to admit I hated "Suit & Tie" until like a week after it came out & now it's one of my absolute 2013 jams.

The ones who aren't even fans shouldn't be worried, but I see they're just as interested in how she's doing on the charts as her fans.

I don't think anyone is fronting. But the response is definitely a different tune than it was after it was first released. It's interesting how fast things change within 5 days.
