When you were in the position Gags was in, you will find a lot of fairweather stans that really only want to be aligned because that person is at the top.
The same way the ATRL Hive had a lot of people pretending to support Bernard prior to the 4 era in order to fit in and avoid being dragged.
Once his courier died, they were all the first to start dragging.

But like people were actually scared to drag Beyonce. She was practically revered. Very few people said anything bad about her. When 4 happened, the floodgates opened.
The fact that MDNA by 84-year-old Madonna outsold FF and let's not even get into the tour.
But the results of the FF era were not because of a lack of a loyal fan base. It was more Britney not being able to reach out to the GP than anything else.

Exactly. Only 4 or 5 people even dared to attempt to drag him in SYG before the 4 era. They all went along with the Hive pretending to like his music in order to avoid their wrath.

Yeah, but the Navy didn't outright leave TWO DAYS into the first single's chart performance and at least the former Britney Stan's waited after the first FF promo performance to jump ship, the Monsters are just something else right now.
