I feel for Mr. Iovine. Interscope will have a difficult time reigning in Gaga's uncontrollable ego. I highly doubt she'll emerge from ARTPOP having learned anything about marketability, and it doesn't seem likely that she'll be willing to adapt her schtick in order to boost her likability. So what can be done with her? She's committed to this preposterous persona, and somehow she's convinced herself that, regardless of how convoluted the act becomes, the theatrics, recycled motifs of art and fame, and pseudo-intellectualism will continue to amuse her audience. But, as we're seeing now, that won't always work. How quickly will she buckle to her label's demands for the Gaga equivalent of a Femme Fatale? How much of a delay for her next album will be caused by stubbornness and label drama? There's no way she'll have the sort of control she's currently enjoying over any future projects.
I'm feeling that KHIA is gonna come and perform the WCS remix with Viley, and that they'll twerk. Hopefully My Neck My Back gets incorporated into it somehow, you know Viley would be ALL about it
I think the select group of people that are still buying Gaga's ~(disco)shtick is enough to keep her continuing her silly antics. Beyonce has a similar ego, though she's less polarizing.
