It IS a bop, but it was also polarizing. You either loved it or hated it and only those seriously invested (or quite open minded) would take the time necessary to enjoy the song.

If Beyonce wanted to play it safe with the 4 era, she should've released BTINH or Dreaming as lead.
If you look at the stats, her uptempo songs never do as well as her midtempos.

lmao End of Time wouldn't do **** on the charts. Her best bet was always Love On Top or Countdown right from the start or at least that was the impression that I had when I first listened to the album. End of Time was a tragedy musically.
