Washington DC's Hot 99.5 can confirm that pop-icon Britney Spears is prepared to release her eighth studio album this fall, backed by lead single "Over the Moon," which was co-produced by "Scream & Shout" collaborator will.i.am and Madonna's "Ray of Light" muse, William Orbit. The song features Pittsburgh-hailed rapper Wiz Khalifa.

A pulse-pounding, bass-thumping four minute-six second mid-tempo, "Moon" will debut on all iHeartRadio stations (Top-40, rhythmic, alternative and urban) Monday, September 2 at 9:05 a.m in full. A radio edit will begin spinning the following week.

"This is a massive radio deal eclipsing some of the bigger radio deals we've seen in recent times," said Clear Channel President Jonathan Albernaty. "The closest comparison would be (Justin) Timberlake's 'Suit & Tie' which debuted to huge numbers after garnering hourly spins on pop and urban radio."

RCA is banking huge on Spears after profitable and successful releases from recent artists like P!nk, the aforementioned Timberlake and Miley Cyrus.

The label is hoping that the feature of Khalifa can help the song stick on urban and hip-hop formats.

Britney is ahead, she is not affraid of trying new things, and she is underrated in that aspect.

About "Roar" and "Applause", I must say that even if "Roar" is not innovative at all, its way superior to "Applause" to me, and I think its a bit underrated musically, IMO there's something appealing and interesting with the reference of animals in the lyrics, its like an indie vibe version of her previous album "Teenage dream", the song its simple but effectively pleasant when you hear it on radio during the day while you're in you car.

"Applause" on the other hand , d*amnn its disastrous, I mean I can perfectly understand why Katy Perry destroyed Lady Gaga's career now.
