Mid November is so nice.
I just noticed Lil Wayne is coming out with Carter V

1D aren't selling 1 million copies first week anytime soon.

It was actually predicted to sell the same amount as FF was, the only difference is that she bothered to promote and promoted WELL. In terms of first week sales, Britney and Beyonce are in the same boat honestly.

Not really. Britney could be a force if she actually tried, and this is a fact. There's just something special about Britney for which is the reason why she is still relevant after fifteen years.

We don't know if half of those will actually release an album this year though.

Didn't he sell like 800k WW for his last album in the first week and like 790k of the sales were from the US?

Well, he's a rapper, so of course.
He's a big force in the US, definitely a big threat for Britney.

They will be stupid if they release their lead single in Q4 and don't release their album during Black Friday and Christmas.

It won't, they are past their peak.
300-400k more likely.

The problem with her is, she didn't have songs that were hits but she did promote. Britney had hits but didn't promote. They have one thing that the other didn't. 2008 really shows their power, not 2011. So really he is right.

I meant new music in general.
There's no confirmation that Rihanna or Beyonce will be releasing this year. Eminem's not confirmed, but very likely. 1D or Bieber only rumoured as well. Now we don't know if any of them will actually postpone their releases seeing the competition or for other reasons. So far what's confirmed is Katy and Gaga releasing their albums this year, that's it. We shall wait and see about others.

I've just relealized that male artists have even bigger power than female artists in the states.

1D are actually declining, they can sell out stadiums and arenas but I highly doubt they'll sell over 700k one week.

Eminem and 1D were already confirmed long time ago. I'm not sure about Beyonce, Rihanna and Bieber.

You have a point. But didn't Circus already sell 3m WW by like Feb 2009 and then she just stopped promoting it? Circus could have sold a lot more as well.

Her team needs to wait until Eminem, One Direction, etc announce their release dates to decide when to release album 8.
We don't wanna go up against a huge act and miss out on that 7th #1 album.
Rihanna is probably releasing this year but as much as I love her in terms of first week sales she is no competition whatsoever lol.

Circus sold 2m during the month of December alone, so yes probably 3m by February. Then she went on tour and the album promo pretty much stopped. The only notable appearance she's made since then were the TCAs, and that was in the summer.

I know rap is a local genre but the ratio from US sales to WW sales is just ridiculous.
