Semi-flopping? The over exaggeration is real. Y’all are so ****ing quick to call a song a “flop” and brush it after after just six hours of release. Applause is getting sales from #3 and #67 singles chart and from ARTPOP at #2 and and #27 on albums chart. The song is selling more than you think. All this over six hours after release. For the record, Katy wasn't #2 this time, she was barely top 10 in the same time frame and y'all were also doubting her at this point, Wait until the public actually wakes up and sees Gaga has a new song on iTunes to judge. Applause still has airplay today and Gaga’s interviews, just like Roar received on release. Katy soared to #1 hours after release once the public saw it.
Also, you can’t compare Applause to Born This Way. Born This Way wasn’t a rushed release, was released in the morning, and didn’t have any competition, hence why it hit #1 in three hours. Katy has had a full day to build a lead against Gaga.
And why of all stan bases is someone with an Avril icon talking about “decline” being apparent? The irony.
