There's nothing wrong with this commercial tbh.
It's culture, really. There's nothing wrong with it.
It's obvious who the target audience is. It would
be stupid from a marketing perspective to fill the
commercial full of white kids singing a Taylor Swift
song.
Anyways, this song kinda bops.

Since when did like I said you did a national survey where you screened every black person who always asks for handouts, it's just a dumb stereotype that you believe due to your own low self esteem. How do we feel entitled to everything when slavery ended 150 years ago and segregation ended not even 50 years ago, do you not realize the high amount of institutional racism. Where blacks are stopped more due to stop and frisk, an act passed in north carolina that limits blacks opportunities to vote in general elections. That bill also is trying to be passed by the GOP in other states as well, where where you during the trayvon martin trial?
Do you not realize how if you have an ethnic name you will have a less likely chance to be called back, racism is still and forever will be prevalent. When the time for social change was coming our grandparents and older relatives where alive where they pass down their racist belief to others, hence the racist jokes displayed on here and other social media websites.
We cannot be hypocritical to racism until we enslave all whites strip them of their identity, then proceed to beat, kill, rape demean and put forth long lasting and harmful stereotypes that still are believed today. And set up an instituation of black privilege and set up institutional and economic power to limit whites powers to achieve up the social ladder. Not including opression in the media compared to their white counterparts.
Until we have an equal playing field than I will take into consideration the small amount of discrimination whites receive in return compared to blacks have and will recieve into the distant future.
On the issue of Paula Deen I can tell you never looked fully into the case however and just read titles of articles and ran with it. If you read the disposition that was launched against her by a white female employee you would know this;
. She segregated the entire restaurant
. Had her son bubba sexually harass workers and steal money from the company
. Wanted a slave plantation wedding where she wanted blacks to dress up as slaves
. She romanticized slavery and diminshed the struggles our ancestors went through and had the nerve to say her ancestors who were slavemasters, treated their slaves like kin
. Only allowed white male employees be hired to full up positions
. Made several jokes about blacks, gays and jews including racial slurs
And that's not the half of it please shut up and stop acting like you represent us because you can't even get basic facts right. Paula Deen is a racist and all the stuff she did was deserving of her behind who had damn near 50 years to get with the program to stop being racist, then smile and act like she's all for equality. Like I said next and I feel bad that you are so high of of your own self hatred, and the lies of the media telling you we live in a post racial society. You believe the things you type or spill out of your mouth.
Read it and weep but despite all the facts I just dispeled you'll find some way to argue some b.s. point

Thank you. Even if you do feel like some Black people are hypersensitive about racism or perceived racism, it's not without damned good reason. This picture is so true:
Every other community can be vocal about ways in which they are discriminated without being given the "get over it" attitude; Jews, Native Americans, feminists, LGBT groups, hispanics etc. are very often seen in the media fighting for their own, but, it's only a problem to some when it's Black people.
But, I digress. I don't even care to join in race discussions at length anymore on this site. It's a shame because this place being one of the few very multicultural sites with people of so many different nationalities, it would be an excellent forum to discuss things like race, religion and politics. But, it's always the usual suspects that will always use these types of threads to spew ignorant ass snarky, prejudiced and flat out racist remarks and I just don't have the patience for it.

That's NOT racist. Would you prefer she sang it like a white-washed pop song?

OOh, Lord.
Predictably this thread turns into a racial ass mess.Let me clarify a few things.
1. Any apologists for the offender have NO pot to piss in when it pertains to who should be offended.Telling black people that they should sit down is iinsensitive, especially considering not all the blacks here are offended. And plesase STOP calling blacs entitled, that is pretentious.
2. Idgi. What is all the hubbub about this commercial? Sure there are stereotypes but I wouldn't classify it as racist.I literally thought nothing of this commercial until I seen it on ATRL and realized I saw it on a commercial break early today.
TBH BET is just as if not MORE stereotypical than this commercial
3. That being said, I don't use KMart. Their stores are dirty, cluttered, and havent been upgraded since the '70s the selection is TERRIBLE, Parking lots are dark and pricing is NOT competitive at all.And they wonder why Walmart and Target are kicking their ass into the ground.Their last store in my city CLOSED on January because the SuperTarget across the street KICKED ITS ASS
I'm saying this as an Afro-american/Black member btw

And most of them are part of the minority group (who are the majority of this board) who are fighting for equality. Interesting.

Since when did all blacks rage over this ONE person doesn't represent us all. Funny thing you stereotype us but this post is a mere reflection of your own failure to be educated on this topic before responding. And if anything blacks are very forgiving have you seen the amount of racial comments racists have spewed and we have forgiven. If anything this poster child should be applied to the gay community, see what I did there.

But that;s the thing though people are choosing to be not only ignorant but lazy of this discussion. Funny how everyone was making stereotypes and spreading false truths about my race in this thread, yet if I made a comment rightfully so being offended then I have an issue. It just not only proves that other groups of people have a hard time understanding our struggle they refuse to accept and understand it, because it's a huge blow to their reality check. That not only are they subconsciously a strong indicator of being racist as proved in this thread. And demonstrates some of the posters in here are a huge part of the reason society is not post racial because they don't want to see any other perspective and believe every though that is spoon fed to them.
And if you notice no one bother responded to our posts that we actually backed up without blanket over generalizations, and instead demonstrated facts and brought up relevant points to this discussion. This once again proves my point that no one wants to acknowledge the truth no matter how much examples are there to back our positions. The black community got to come together and unite plus stop taking so much b.s. and excusing stuff like comments in this thread

And what if a black person came up with this ad? why is it just assumed that this is white people trying to make racist little snips at black children, when it could easily be a black director and producer, not to mention, they had the permission of the mothers/fathers of these black children.
