We got a new employee at my job this week and it's awkward. Not because he's new, but like 3 years ago we were in the same cabin at summer camp and we were very....familiar with each other.
I totally get that feeling. I feel it alot when I listen to indie music. Like pretty much the entire discography of The xx gives me that feeling.
It happens to me listening to Radiohead and Local Natives Some songs evoke and feel like bad memories and I get this tight-knit feeling in my stomach and some do the opposite. Isn't beautiful being a human? I'm so happy I haven't become so desensitized and that I actually FEEL.

I haven't heard much of Local Natives, but Radiohead is defiantly another one that makes me feel like that. It really is magnificent how songs can do that though. I especially love the ones that make me just want to drive off in the middle of the night. I don't know if that makes sense. But sometimes the right song comes on and I just want to go into this void and never come back, and have adventures and romances. But then sometimes that all seems like if it happened, it would all be so empty and useless, yet still needed to be done.

The repetitive uses of the personal pronouns "you're" and "me" signify Perry's relationship with her lover as one entity. Reading it as "you're me, me" clearly demonstrates and highlights this idea of unity; she's her lover and her lover is herself.
The first word "THIS" stands out because it's unknown to the audience as to what Perry is inferring; what is "this"? Could "this" be HER as a whole? Has she come to a point in a relationship wherein she has begun objectifying herself as a subject/object rather than an actual human being? This idea can however be looked at a different viewpoint, wherein Perry may be inferring that the "this" they have could be their relationship; is her lover taking it away? This is supported by the idea of them being an entity and Perry feeling as though they're being torn apart.
The use of the double iambic pentameter suggests her heart beating twice as fast, signifying how important this issue is to her. Her heart is physically and perhaps mentally beating as fast as it usually would, inferring that she cannot fathom what is going on and is thus bewildered.

Yes omg YOU UNDERSTAND! At nights, I feel like a floating amoeba whose entity is just living in this body which isn't really mine; I feel like I'm able to feel but not so much able to translate those feelings into "positive" and "negative" UGHhHhHhHhhhhhhh

And every time I've been to a concert, I've wanted to go walk around during wardrobe changes, but I've always gotten really scared something weird would happen to me.
