I'll be buying a digital deluxe of Album 8 for sure, and a physical deluxe copy if I have the money. I'd love a fan package of some sort, but I'd have to ask family to gift it to me for Christmas, as I'm literally going broke now that I'm responsible for my car insurance, gas, and registration.

I hope she IS playing around, cause that song is a mess and a half.
Anyway, Britney is not going to beat her on any charts. There is no competition. They are on two different career levels. Gaga is at a semi peak, make or break phase. Britney already went through that.

I love Gaga, but I won't speak on her potential success here - what I will note, however, is that people very often underestimate Britney's potential. Depending on the material and her enthusiasm about it, she could still very well deliver an era that would give come current girls a run for their money. There is a power in her name that commands attention, and there is a recognition for her best works that will benefit her commercially if she creates a truly great album once again.

I love how this is one of the very few Slave performances she nailed during the FFT.

Yes, Gaga can sell a lot of records, etc. I hope Britney delivers this era and that her management doesn't screw anything up.

After Femme Fatale, they won't. I love the album, personally, but knowing what it could have been and what happened to Britney's enthusiasm about the era afterward, I doubt that her management and label will do much to get in her way this time around.

I'm not saying there is no power on her name. But she is past her peak, a HUGE comeback like The Enmancipation of Mimi is PROBABLY not happening, but you never know. The standards are different for someone on Britney's career stage than Gaga's. Just like Britney was outselling people like Madonna on her prime. I think she can still have a top ten hit, a number one album, a platinum album, but anything more than that... I'm just here for the music at this point.

I'm sure we're all just here for the music, but we can still be optimistic in wishing her success.
She got three top tens her last era, so singles success is really no concern (at least in the US). Her album sales are what could be improved; personally, I do see her as capable of competing with the big names of today like P!nk, Gaga, Katy, Taylor etc. in worldwide albums sales - the only problem is the sheer amount of promotion that it would take, as well as album sales' reliance on the perfect single choices and a big tour to benefit them. I know she's expected to do things differently and achieve a different level of success in comparison to the current big girls, and I wouldn't expect more than like 3 million sales globally, but what I'm saying is that she does have the potential. Take a look at some past stars; Madonna, who sold less than a third with Erotica than she did with Like a Prayer (not even a sixth if you instead use The Immaculate Collection), managed to come back after two more albums to a point where she was selling nearly four times what she had with her low point. Mariah's comeback you mentioned yourself. If they can pull something like that off, then surely Britney can pull off "just" 5 million in sales with the perfect era.
As you said, you never really know - we know comparatively little about the album, and we haven't heard even a millisecond, so what success she will attain in actuality is a complete toss-up at this point, to us. I'm hoping for an improvement from FF in all areas.

Her team is just beyond stupid. Britney fired Larry twice before. I can tell this will be a mix of In the Zone, Blackout, and Circus. I don't know how much promo she'll be do seeing as how Vegas seems to be her only source of promo this era. I still think she'll do some performances outside of Vegas. With all the rumors circulating I can see this being another Circus era. Which is a good thing because we don't want another FF era. I still care about her performances because during Circus she showed us she still has it. As long as she reaches 3 million in sales I'll be satisfied.

Yeah, they're... a unique bunch. I think she might do some performances beyond Vegas, and I personally hope she steps it up quite a bit with promo overall, but 3 million is the point at which I'd also be satisfied.
I can't wait to hear the first single, it has to be pretty close. Maybe a month away?
