And BIT*H is kinda genius combining the EDM verses with such a HUGE, undeniable, pure pop chorus. That chorus alone is going to have radio formats adapting once more to suit her needs, and in the process open doors for this style of production.

I could see why people might be offended by not just the lyrics, but the overall meaning of the track. But beyond that argument, I think it's overproduced and could get old quickly - I'm still looking forward to the polished version!

I thought a forum's purpose was to share "subjective" opinions (redundant).

Anyways, (and here goes another 'subjective opinion' of mine) I think there's something perhaps noble in Lady Gaga wanting to talk about a subject like this one. Like I said, it's not in the lyrics that makes the song offensive; face-value, it seems empowering. But it's cultural misappropriation - to shed light on the issue is one thing, but to shed light through a western (or "hyper-sexual") perspective can become problematic, is all I am saying. I don't think it's reaching at all - it's common practice, in fact.

The lyrics are the exact opposite of offensive, it's actually about what how many Muslim women do not feel restricted by that type of clothing and do so because it's what they want to do so, not because they are forced. Example:

My veil is protection for the gorgeousness of my face

She doesn't wear the veil because she is repressed, she wears it because she only wants to show her beauty to the man that she loves.

Yeah, I know they won't. And they hardly understand anything she does anyways (Like how Judas's lyrics were actually just using a biblical metaphor for a bad relationship) because people have become so accustomed to Top 40 songs being forward and to the point that they don't think to look at the lyrics with any kind of critical thinking and try to find the meaning beneath the lyrics.

It's actually kind of funny because so many of the BTW lyrics went way over my head, but so far with Applause and Aura, she's hit the right balance of understanding in the lyrics for me.

The majority of people dragging the song (outside ATRL) are complaining about the "first half of the song."

I think some people think that this is the final version and the "highway" verse, "hahahahahahaha" verse and "au-ra, au-ra, au-ra" verses are part of the actual final song

I haven't seen many people complain about the verses and the chorus keeps getting praised, even when the said review is dragging it as a whole
