I mean I know that, but it's really not me. I can't disclose everything that happened because it was at one of my sororities chapter meetings. Anyway the new line that just crossed is a mess. Thirteen of them crossed and 7 of them were late to the meeting today. They've been consistently late. So, we finally said something and one of them was like "Well it's the summer and it's hard to fit our schedule around the meetings and everything else that's going on". She had to be put in her place, but I basically told her in a way of words that before she even qualified for an interview she was told that being a member of Delta Sigma Theta Incorporated is a lifetime commitment and if she can't find the time in her busy schedule to attend our 1 hr chapter meetings then she would be punished.
I feel bad though... because I didn't say it that nicely.

Well I used to feel the same way after arguments, but if you cursed her out and it's out of your character maybe she kinda had it coming. And what does she do that is so busy she can't schedule an hour of her day???

Is DST REALLY close to your heart?
I'm a bit too passive to pop off like that. I'd tell her that she needs to honor her commitment, but I wouldn't yell at her.

She said she was getting a medi and a pedi and they got really busy after they started on her and it took them a long time to finish her... Which happens, BUT... I don't tolerate excuses... especially from a neophyte that has only been a member of the organization for going on 3 months.

I can see why you got angry even though you knda did go too far, but with that lame ass excuse she deserves some type of lesson. She needs to get her ish togetha being late a lot of the times is not a good thing for something that from your perspective is not taken lightly
Oh yeah BlackPower that vine vid was so cringe worthy, not funny and very cruel in my opinion

So... ...what our fraternities and sororities even for though? Aren't they like... ...clubs basically? Centuries-old Greek-inspired clubs? What do you do there?

Yes it is close to my heart. Not only that, but when these girls are on line they are taught what it takes to be in our sisterhood to make sure they are ready to commit. For you to be late to meetings and community service 3 months after you crossed, yet still think you are worthy to wear our memorabilia and insignia is a slap in the face. You earn that right and just because you crossed doesn't mean you've earned it.

Yeah they are basically clubs. It depends on the club really.
The one I'm in, all we do is basically community service work , but we also host events that better the college, make guest appearances to special events, and obviously host good parties.

I can't speak for all sororities or fraternities, but DST is a community service based private organization. Alpha Kappa Alpha is a social organization... I can't speak for them.
As a Delta, I participate and organize community service projects, host school functions, outreach programs, fundraisers, etc.

Yeah I would guess most fraternities/sororities are like this. It's kinda like SGA just you need certain qualifications

I mean maybe she is, but she's doing a sorry job of showing it. A lot of females want to join sororities because of all the glitz and glamour that goes along with it. They want to wear the shirts and throw up the signs and all of this, but sometimes aren't willing to do all of the hard work that we actually do which is the most important part. We had a Voter Registration Drive before last year's elections and helped register 1500 new voters. That's the reason why I'm a part of it, but there are those who have ill-intentions and it's my job to make sure they are checked at the front door so they won't tarnish the legacy our 22 founders have bestowed upon us.

Honestly when I first joined psi chi I kinda was hoping there was an initiation like I had to suck someone off or they all take turns topping you (PROTECTED ) but the only initiation (besides the good grades) was that you had to write a paper on why it would be good to join. Boring
