It's ridiculous that he (and others) think him punching Rihanna made him famous. He was famous before then. He's less successful in the charts post-2009 than he was pre-2009.

I like Chris, but I feel like he WANTS to keep referencing the RIhanna incident. He's always subtly referring to it on Twitter, in interviews, in his songs, etc, as if he's always trying to remind people about it. It's annoying, he's lucky that the public have been quite forgiving of him, he should just completely put it behind him.

I already said my piece on this. The incident is no longer holding him back. It's his dumb actions towards rihanna and other people that have prolonged his setbacks. He has noone to blame but himself.

Having a verbal confrontation is one thing, but including physical violence is way and above a whole new level. Rihanna did not "deserve" to get smacked in the face and what you're doing is basically victim blaming. I love it to death how you COMPLETELY blame Rihanna, you call her accountable yet ignore the person who actually used fists. You are the people who allow domestic abuse to continue by saying "who cares?" and "she's accountable for her own actions" instead of scolding the person who used violence.

Chris was more famous than Rihanna back then. His chart positions were more consistent than Rihanna's. Chris Brown (his album) sold 3 Million worldwide as Music of the Sun sold a mere 1 million copies worldwide. Exclusive sold 4 Million copies as to A Girl Like Me's 2.5 Million. It was only until Umbrella when Rihanna leveled Chris' popularity. Before the inicident happened, both of them were the king and queen of music, they were the biggest acts back then but the incident happened. It killed both of their careers but Rihanna made her way back up because of the sympathy. Chris eventually made it's way back but not as huge as he was before. Rihanna is bigger than ever and that helped her career. Chris came back but not as big as he was before and definitely not bigger than Rihanna.

Chris had fame before the Rihanna incident. What is he talking about?

That incident did ruin his career for a minute, but as the years went by, a good majority of the GP moved on from it. It's not just that incident; it's all of the other stupid "mistakes" and terrible actions he's done since then that has put him (and kept him) in a negative spotlight, and the fact that his music quality decreased.

Chris just needs to take a long break and retire from the media for awhile and then come back strong.

Now the way I see it, I don't have any problem with Rihanna bringing up the incident in public because, she's the survivor, and that's her right. How on earth was Chris competition to Usher when the last one went out of a successful album like "Confessions", success Brown wasn't even able to touch with his hit single "Forever" plus his horrible overall sales.

And I cannot believe he hasn't got over it yet and Rihanna did it long time ago.
