On another topic.

Was listening to Matchbox Twenty's album today, and I really think 1D could pull off the sound of their songs like "She's So Mean", and "Our Song".

Ooh! That reminds me, I've been listening to fun.'s "Out on the Town" over the past couple of days and the whole time I was thinking that One Direction should try something like that for a slower song on the album. Let me go listen to these Matchbox 20 songs before I make a decision on them.

Haha, that's the same rate. The votes were due at the end of June, so I came back for that because I assumed it would start nearly immediately. The rate has started but seems to have fallen off the radar, so I don't know what's happening with it anymore. Which isn't too bad because as you've pointed out, we don't have a constant stream of drool and semen thirst throughout the thread.

1D humbling and showing us the meaning of classy behavior.

Now base is almost like it was before the summer. Get ready for Jungle's glorious posting every hour on the hour.

I can't help that I was trying to keep this Base alive by posting flawless pictures of Liam!

A dead Base and the thirst being real are a deadly combination

LOVE Fun's album. Was my bop last summer.

I want 1D to go more rock since that is the music they actually like, and I think the music will be better if they actually like the music they are performing.

(I really don't think all of them do right now.)

Though I imagine it is too soon to shift for the next album.

I'm really conflicted on what kind sound they can do.

I was about to say We Are Young type of sound before I remembered they don't have that certain flavor to make it not a Wash, Rinse and Repeat mess of a certain song.

I agree. The rock and R&B influences need to really make a more prominent appearance on their newer material. A rock/R&B hybrid could be awesome! Basically like what Haim (a band) are doing right now. They must be getting tired of the guitar bubblegum pop routine now. I think they love what they do but just wish for something a little more "them".

Well we haven't heard the album, so we can't really say anything right now.
However, a lot of artists are late bloomers. They only start coming into their own on the fourth or fifth album. There's still plenty of time.

It would be interesting to see the boys dabble in some R&B-lite songs.
That sound used to be the boyband standard and they also really need to change things up a bit.

"They Don't Know About Us" is the closest the guys have stepped in that musical direction, but obviously it's not quite the same level of R&B as back then. But at least it's another avenue they can explore!

Also do we know for SURE what their next album is titled? I know the tour is titled "Where We Are" or something like that, but did they ever confirm that was the title of the album?

It's been said Where We Are is the new album name in a few articles, but I don't think anything has been officially confirmed. It probably is tho. I mean, One Direction aren't original enough to have a separate album AND tour name...
