I Love You is flawless, okay? I rarely say that about anything, but really, they're never going to top it. Ever. They might come out with something that's equally incredible but with a different subgenre.
I Love You was classy electro-trot, which would be an excellent direction for them to take because they've proven themselves to be amazing at it, but if they're going back to their more club-oriented, hep-hap-influenced style then they'll be hard-pressed to pull something as great as IATB again. Personally, I think they need to stay away from anything remotely urban sounding (FIL was cutting it dangerously close), and I'd love to hear more stuff in the vein of ILY + Hate You.
They're also pretty decent at the rock influence, imo. Ugly is in the upper tier of their title tracks, and even though Go Away is straight up pop, it's rock-inspired. If they wanna try that again, I am here for it. Basically, if they stick to the subgenre trinity (electro, RnB, pop-rock) with the occasional ballad thrown in, they can't go wrong. It's when they try too hard to be """"urban"""" and """"hep-hap"""" that things get weird. (This excludes Fire, cause Fire slays). I mean, I like Falling in Love, but it's kind of a novelty and I'ma need it to stay that way cause Teddy, sis...
