Seriously, listen to the song. It's definitely country-influenced. To me, it sounds like something one of the girls from the Lilith Fair era would have released but much poppier.
I love the song actually! But it's way more electronic than the usual country pop. It also doesn't have that 'twang'. The song sounds a bit folky, which could be considered country-ish maybe
At least it outsold Where Have You Been and Right Now combined. Two eras worth of fourth singles with a combined 4 billion AI topped by the fourth single country flop.
Fun fact: for older movies we only have US box office grosses available. BUT Kramer vs Kramer sold more tickets in the US than every Angelina Jolie movie worldwide except Mr & Mrs Smith!
KRAMER Vs KRAMER
Adjusted US gross: $351,045,200

Legend
If it's an homage to Bruce it's only for his Born in the USA album because that's his only album that could remotely be considered "power rock", and even then it sounds nothing like his music...the inspiration is more obvious in the lyrics, particularly the Nebraska reference (Nebraska is the title of his highly acclaimed 1980 minimalist folk album).

Nebraska is where Lüc is from, I think. It was also recorded and produced there.
