I agree. My only dislike about cry is that the production tends to be loud in the chorus. Already Gone contains in my opinion the best production of Kelly's discography.
Try to listen carefully to the pre-bridge chorus, the bridge and final chorus. It's something that couldn't have been done better.

Kelly's had an amazing ballad on every album, the closest we got on Stronger was The War Is Over/Honestly, but both of them lack a certain star quality if you know what I mean, they were great but not quite there.
I think Honestly is an amazing song and probably the best one on (standard version) Stronger (with LMD and YLM) but I wouldn't call it a ballad. TWIO is the best ballad on standard Stronger to me (The Sun Will Rise and Why Don't You Try are better to me tho).
Cry and The War Is Over are very similar thematically. Stronger didn't have a ballad with the same qualities as Anytime, Because of You, etc. I often forget the album has any technical ballads because no song on Stronger feels like one.

Pretty much this tbh. It's like no one should sing SUBG and BOY (and some other Kelly's songs) because he/she will never touch Kelly's versions.
If she were to do a Whitney song, I'd rather her cover "I Have Nothing", "It's Not Right, But It's Okay" ,"So Emotional", "My Love Is Your Love".
