What does Nicki need to change, though? When she did "evolve", she suffered a critical and commercial backlash. She's not a pop star (no matter how much people want her to be), and her bread and butter is Hip Hop. She needs to stick with that. If she becomes irrelevant after doing what she was made to do, I feel that's okay. Sometimes your credibility and artistry is better than forgettable hits that will only lead into irrelevancy anyway.
I mean, "Freaks" >>>>>>>>>>> her pop songs
Making ****** pop songs and still trying to pass yourself off as a rap artist isn't called evolving, more like downgrading.
What will Cap10 do when Taylor Swift releases her first hip hop album and the lead single becomes the fastest-selling single of all-time and the album becomes the last urban million seller. There will be no white male around to save his people this time.
I'm glad she's learned her lesson from PF:RR because her I'm Out verse is quickly becoming my favorite rap verse of the year. You can tell by her recent features that she's hungry for a redemption and if she can deliver an album with that quality content , I hope she gets it.
Dear John, I see it all now that you're gone.
Don't you think I was too young
To be messed with?
The girl in the dress
Cried the whole way home, I should've known.
Will Katy her I-just-broke-up-with-John-Mayer track punch this hard?
'Cause our song is the slammin' screen door
Sneakin' out late, tappin' on his window
When we're on the phone and he talks real slow
'Cause it's late and his mama don't know
Our song is the way he laughs
The first date "Man, I didn't kiss him, and I should have"
And when I got home, before I said, "Amen"
Askin' God if he could play it again
Play it again
Is when you think "Tim McGraw"
I hope you think my favorite song
Someday you'll turn your radio on
I hope it takes you back to that place
When you think happiness
I hope you think "that little black dress"
Think of my head on your chest
And my old faded blue jeans
When you think Tim McGraw
I hope you think of me
Oh, think of me
Mmm
You said the way my blue eyes shined
Put those Georgia stars to shame that night
I said, "That's a lie."
