Selena is no ones worldwide icon, she is famous in SOME parts of Latin America, and was made famous AFTER her untimely murder due to the film about her life becoming a cult classic and giving her music exposure.

Sats i'm Latino and i know what i'm talking about, she's known in every spanish speaking country, and they show documentaries and performances of her on TV every year during the anniversary of her death.
And "SOME parts of Latin America" is basically Mexico and that's it. None use her music or her style of music elsewhere.
Dude stop trying to downplay selenas legacy! She was very popular in the u.s.!!! After her death obviously, but it doesn't change the fact that a lot of people know who she is. For the record, I use little selena as well!

She is UNKNOWN outside of Mexico and the Latin community in the US. Maybe a cult following here and there but she is UNUSED in the vast majority of the Spanish speaking world.
