I think people were just expecting another CGYOOMH and were disappointed that she ended up doing something completely different. And RBW was probably seen as a sell-out, clearly trying to get a US hit.

Because MDNA sucks. And the era wasn't a flop with a $300m+ tour. The album flopped yes, the singles flopped (well GMAYL was a top 10 hit but still) but the tour was the era's saving grace.
I wish this forum was around when 'Erotica' was released. Now people love it but I want to read the first reactions to 'Erotica' and the Sex book from fans.
