Yeah a lot of people think well she has nice tone and is emotive (which is completely subjective) and think your loud as hell to a la jennifer hudson so you are an amazing vocalist/singer. I think xtina gets such a huge pass because she came out so young with this big voice and is blue eyed with blonde hair
Plus she did bubble gum pop like Britney except she could sing. She had so much potential but that ego of hers got in her way. If she had taken appropriate lessons on her voice, she'd be okay now but.....

I have mixed feelings about that Ariana girl...she's cute and has a nice voice, but, it is hard to see her as anything but a knock off act with the Mariah formula. The way is cute and nostalgic but the she needs to build her own musical identity.

Yeah she def has an ego IDC how naturally talented you are if you want to grow taking lessons is a great way to go takes you to new horizons you though you could never reach (well except for freddie mercury). Plus xtina has some great songs but her albums are just bogged with filler and the constant wailing as attempts at soul take away a lot of points from her. Whatevs though I still semi stan for her
I always question this. She is terrible and I don't understand why she's even called a vocalist. A vocalist is a person that can use their voice as instrument, Xtina can't even control that ****. I mean Beyonce > Xtina. I don't care about what her natural tone or what her potential is when she can't ****ing figure out how to use it. Her fans are amongst the most delusional too.
They equate hollering for heaven/hell = soul, depth, and passion. I don't even know if there is a performance where there isn't one strained note, screaming, over-the-top-belting, etc. She toned it down a bit on her Bionic era (see You Lost Me) but for the most part.
Ms.Aguilera is a far better singer than Mariah though, right now especially.

I agree. I like both Stripped and B2B but they're both infused with fillers. Bionic is the king of fillers though....like the standout tracks were mostly on the Deluxe version. Lotus is just utter trash (minus Your Body and Just a Fool) that was crafted for the charts and filled with straining, screaming mess of vocals.
At least I can forgive Bionic because she was aiming for something artistic and actually wasn't just thinking about the charts but Louts was her second most commercial sounding album with very few tolerable tracks and all that hollering. Like what for, bitch! It has no redeeming qualities minus Your Body and she doesn't seem to give a single ****.
