So I actually watched the Jason Derulo performances.



He didn't sound terribly awful, but it all sounded like a struggle. He WAS gasping for air. He couldn't even sustain a few phrases because he was running out of breath. The costuming was really uninteresting. The choreography was unimpressive. Your average simple Hip-Hop routine with a couple Michael Jackson moonwalks, Wednesday shuffles, and b'boy stunts thrown in. (Hip-Hop [the style of dance] is getting so played in live Pop performance. Michael and Janet covered an array of styles of dance. Hell, Beyonce isn't even that great a dancer, but she's pretty versatile. I wonder how Jason or Chris or whomever would fare doing more modern/contemporary-influenced stuff.) It wasn't bad, just incredibly average and un-unique - like many performances these days.
