I think people were really expecting her to represent up there. So many people were excited to see not only a rapper, not only a black rapper, but a black female rapper killing it at the Grammys.
When I see it from the perspective of someone who isn't a super fan, I TOTALLY see the outrage to expect this hard hitting and potentially historic performance and then she gets up there with the goofy exorcism antics and a theatrical track.
Basically. They wanted her to embody the epitome of female rap. It's all sad, although it's nice now looking at how thing's have progressed.
