Well the characters are: A guy named Danny, his former friends Jo and Lacey. His mother, jo's parents, Lacey's friends etc.
When Danny was 11 he was sent to Juvie for 5 years for killing his Aunt Tara. Jo and Lacey were there and then were scared 4 life. When he gets out he ends up having ot move to the same town and everyone calls him a sociopath and he gets the nickname socio. Jo is an outcast at school when he gets back and Lacey is super popular.
Basically Lacey's friend Regina comes on to Danny, tells him he knows why he killed his Aunt (a super secret) and invites him over to her house and invites him over in the middle of the night. The next morning she is found beaten to death with her necklace (which was Danny's Aunt who he murdered's first) missing.
The whole town blames Danny but their is no evidence and an Investigation ensues. Jo (and eventually Lacey) believe Danny's innocence and try to prove him innocent while Jo's Dad (le police chief) tries to prove Danny guilty at all costs (while failing).
It's better than I described. Even though it's on ABC Family it doesn't suck so yeah! Watch it rocks. The eps are on hulu,or on demand if you have xfinity.
