That single should've SMASHED, but ugh. It's charting position makes me mad.
A lot of people think her singles flopped because their charting, and she was irrelevant but that's not the case.
Cheap ass Blackground Records and her Label for OIAM/Aaliyah never released her **** to smash properly. "One In A Million" among with many singles from that era couldn't even chart because Airplay only singles couldn't.
For crying sakes "Try Again" was the first song to ever go #1 off Airplay, because they wouldn't release her **** Physically for anything.
That is why AANBAN remains her best era in charting.

Yas, but I think it was the Label or whatever she was under.
Like how in the 1st era she was signed with Jive(??) and they did her SO GOOD. I'm still ****ing pressed she left them over that R.Kelly stuff.
Her first 2 singles remain charting higher than every single excluding "Try Again", "Miss You", and "If Your Girl Only Knew" I think.
Most likely because they released her singles properly. AND TIL THIS DAY, her debut is her ONLY album that's still available on shelves and on Streaming Sites.
The fact her people who released her Debut, still release her stuff better than the ones she died with.
Mind you this is exactly why "Enough Said" never go to chart and smash. Ugh.

I can bet y'all if "Try Again" was released Physically it would've been THE Song of Summer in 2000.
It topped the Hot 100 for 1 week in June, but then topped Airplay for 11/12 weeks UNTIL AUGUST. Had they had Physical Release, the momentum would've took a LONG time to stop. That could've been THE SONG of 2000.
They really didn't realize how big it was for a song to go #1 with JUST AIRPLAY, and no sales.

Actually, "If Your Girl Only Knew" (which I believe was released correctly), peaked at #11, whereas "Back and Forth" peaked at #5 and "At Your Best" #6. And "The One I Gave My Heart To" went to #9.
"Come Back In One Piece" was gonna flop anyway. I mean, "Try Again" was already there, sooo.....

Idk why Aaliyah never seemed bother about her Label.
'Try Again' was literally an Airplay Accomplishment, all it needed was a couple sales each week to keep it at top throughout the whole Summer.
If I was her, I would've IMMEDIATELY switched my Label if I had a song spent ONE week at #1 that could've spent 10+. Like that sounds so weird, I don't get why they were literally trying to have her stuff underperform.

Once again, her uncle was shady. HE was the executive of her label. He was making all the (****ty) decisions.

Ugh. She had a bunch of **** that could've sent it up the charts too.
And she was about to pull what Ciara did at BET Awards, on VMA's too.
She was suppose to perform at the VMA's a week after her death, but I remember her MTV Special showed a portion of her dancing to "We Need a Resolution" practicing for the VMA's. I know she was probably gonna do a medley too, with "Rock the Boat" because it was released right before the VMA's hence the video and death obviously.
She would've put Ciara to SHAME with her "I'm Out"/"Body Party" performance of 2001.

TBH. Why the label complied with Aaliyah and her crew's requests to leave The Bahamas a day early + WHY they chartered that little ass plane for them when they already had a larger plane scheduled to be used - I will never know.

Yeah wasn't aaliyah supposed to start her first tour as well after the VMA performance. Plus didn't Janet say she would have loved to collaborate with her, I know Janet like try again and aaliyah as an artist. If they did could you imagine the awesomeness of the video. Aaliyah had so much potential but sadly we know what happened, only if she just waited another day.

I'm VERY surprised people don't realize this.
She didn't wanna even take the plane, and the sketchy Pilot/Airlines she was put on. For SAKES, her brother goes on all her specials and says "She always told me she didn't wanna ride that plane", and the WHOLE FAMILY is against Barry releasing her music. Clearly he did something involved in that I doubt they're just bitter over her music being released.

And the fact her father died last year. I cannot imagine what state her mother/brother are in if they still til this day are effected by her death, let alone their husband/dad's.
