They don't. 
The fact of the matter is there is no reliable source for Gee or Genie digital sales. It's a shame they were released before Gaon but these numbers might as well have been (and probably were) pulled right out of some SONE's ass.

The Japanese sales are all legit though. They really were slaying there during their peak
And regardless of the shady Gee/Genie numbers the OP did a great job compiling all this information

What actually happened to them in Japan though? Like they were huge during their debut era and it isn't as if their releases have gotten worse in quality bc their second Japanese album was really really good. They seemed to be making the right moves to be seen as actual jpop artists and then.... nothing.
No shade btw, I'm genuinely curious as to why their sales have dropped so sharply.

the girls & peace era was a mess
it was poorly promoted, flower power was released a WEEK before the album release, so much less tv appearances (they had more in their first era), but the biggest reason has to be that the k-pop wave has stopped in japan, k-pop artists are more likely to not do well in japan, i mean, have you seen BoA ? 
and let's not forget that their debut had two of their most popular hits ever "Gee" + "Genie", they saved Oh! for their second japanese album but oh well
and about that no shade point, non-taken

not saying they're not famous, but they're not a thread to SNSD what so ever, in fact no girl group is a threat to them, super junior might be their only one

how are they fading when IGAB is the single that kicked out PSY from being #1 ? how are they fading when IGAB is korea's #2 best selling album of 2013, they're invited to every event and starring on new dramas and movies and singing more OSTs..etc
