For this challenge, the three songs I've chosen are my favorite trinity of songs that represent me as a person today. They are
1) Borderline - Madonna
Quote:
Easily my favorite song of all time. 1980s vintage M and she shines on this track, which is quite possibly the most frivolous sounding song that has a deep meaning. In my life I've had quite a few relationships that just never worked out because of issues that seemed to stem from the mind, not the heart. They never work out, but instead of sulking in it, this tune uplifts and motivates to inspire one that someone is really out there waiting for you, that you don't have to settle for anything less than perfect, that life is worth it. It's precious to me, hence why this choice was the easiest of them all
2) Deeper Understanding - Kate Bush
Quote:
Deeper Understanding is a song from Kate Bush that was actually redone. Regardless, this has to take a place in my trinity. The lyrics talk about how people are replacing human relationships with technological relationships, a problem that I've even noticed on ATRL. Many people forgo the usual personal relationships because the internet facade is easier to handle and is less judgmental. It speaks near and dear to me as well, because I used to be a "hermit" per say, a person that never went outside, ever. But after listening to this song, it convinced me to change my habits little by little and I've gained the confidence to build human relationships. Granted this song was inspirational to me when I was 8, a decade ago, but the lasting impact is something I owe my life too
3) Imagine - John Lennon
Quote:
Imagine by John Lennon. I won't say much about this song, the lyrics are all that's needed. I grew up in a Christian family, but even with that being said no family is free of quarrel and my family has had a huge share of it. Most of it arose because of problems that are in the song, this song the single most inspirational song I've ever heard. I can sit here and praise it all night if I wanted but that's not what I'm here to do. It was a tough choice, I can think of 1000 other songs that could fit in the trinity of "me" but any trinity that did not include these three songs is no trinity of mine.
Pretty Lady

Ke$ha - C U Next Tuesday
The song represents my love of effects and production in music. If I sit and listen close to the instrumental I can literally get high from it. I know I'm not the typical Animal since most of them don't like C U Next Tuesday, but it's not just a filler track to me, it's so much more than that; it's my drug that I need every day, it's my passion, when I listen I can dream, and it's my one true love.
Taylor Swift - Dear John
This song represents my love of a good, deep ballad. The song conveys Taylor's deep inner feels and them being expressed through her music. I believe anyone can do that, which is why ballads are important in music. It's music I can see and feel. I can relate to her struggles and I can relate to her love lost. Ballads can connect the listener to the artist.
My Heart Will Go On - Celine Dion
This song represents my memories and shows how music can make you remember certain things in your life and the songs themselves can be sentimental. Me and my great grandmother use to listen to this song and say how it was our song. So when I listen to it, I can literally feel my Great Grandma's presence and It makes me happy that one memory can stay with me and I can relive it with each click of replay.
The lyrics honestly shocked me when I first heard the song. It seemed
to have perfectly described me. This might sound like a fabricated
story, but I've always had this sort of fake "act" up back in those
middle school days. I surrounded myself with fake friends and
acted like a total bitch just to fit in. When I heard this song, it
truly connected to me and helped me realize that it's best
to be just yourself.
My interpretation on this song is that it's about a passive person who's
generally quiet and likes to keep their thoughts to their self. I
absolutely love how relaxing the song is and the lyrics are a pretty
accurate description of (the real) me.
This song is my absolute favorite from Mariah and this song
represents my love for vocals. If a song has good vocals, I'm bound
to take a listen to it with an open mind. This song is a perfect
representation of that because there's no catchy beat that'll
get it stuck in your head and the lyrics didn't really connect with me;
but it's her vocals that made the entire song for me.
Lady Gaga is the first artist I've stanned for, since the first time I listened to Just Dance I knew that discovering the rest of her music was going to be one hell of a trip and it was. Even though I don't stan for her as much as I used to back in 2010, Marry The Night helped me a lot whenever I was sad or doubtful, I embraced all of the **** I have lived and decided to stop feeling sorry for myself, I still have a lot to accomplish but it won't happen if I don't push myself and go for it.
Crystal Castles is the second artist/band I've actually stanned for, their music is mostly a mix of alternative electronic, loud and badass. I chose this song because is somehow a nutshell of their music: powerful sounds, haunting vocals and lyrics that usually talk about opression and injustice.
I don't know about you guys but when your first love dumps your ass is the worst specially when you thought that the relationship was perfect, I changed the perspective I had a year ago about love and being in a relationship, the key is that if you have to love yourself before thinking about starting a relationship because when being with someone just because you want to stop feeling lonely won't end right.

This track represents my love for fun and having a good time, as well as me fully embracing the "Queen" inside of me. The song is a dance track, which is one of my favorite music styles, and it is by one of my favorite artists, Lady Gaga. Lyrics such as "Oh the lights still on, we're dancing/Yeah the floor is shaking" and "Throw your head back, girly/Throw it like those girls in the movies" are lyrics I can relate to because I love dancing and parties, and I'm not afraid to embrace my feminine side and let loose. This is only my favorite song from "The Fame" and represents my carefree side very well.
G4L by Rihanna
This song is one of my favorite songs of all time, and my favorite song by my fave Rihanna. It's a gritty, dubstep song that Rihanna wrote along with Chase n Status. The song is about Rihanna sticking by her friend until the day she dies, no matter what, no matter how hard things get. I am a very good friend and this song represents my loyalty to my friends. "I got these
girls like a soldier" and "I'm ready to roll/Girl I'm with you/If they get you/They get me" are important lyrics because they highlight the importance of loyalty in a friendship and convey my feelings about relationships. The bridge to the song also mentions Rihanna Navy, my fan base, and "We're an army/Better yet, a navy/Better yet, crazy/Guns in the air" is Rihanna and the Navy's tagline. The song is portrays my loyalty to my friends, as well as to my fave.
What You Waiting For? by Gwen Stefani
This song is a dance song by one of my favorite artists, Gwen Stefani. It is my favorite Gwen song and Gwen music video. The song is about her hesitation to take advantage of and realize her full potential as an artist. I relate to this song because I am always holding back on things in life, small to big. I'm currently planning on what college I want to go to and what direction my life will take and I find myself feeling scared and feeling like I'm going to fail. "Naturally I'm worried if I do it alone/Who really cares 'cause it's your life/You never know, it could be great /Take a chance 'cause you might grow " accurately convey the conflicts Gwen, and I, feel. "Born to blossom, bloom to perish" is also one of my favorite music lyrics and is a very powerful quote. The whole idea of "What You Waiting For?" and the question it asks has a lot of impact on me.

► Addicted - Kelly Clarkson ♦ The song that defines me and my name here on ATRL. This is the emotional and vulnerable side of my personality. This song is gut-wrenching and haunting, it serves as a reminder for me that we all experience pain, we all have our addictions and our troubles. This could be one of my favourite songs ever, it is one of the reasons I have such a deep connection and interest in music today, I wouldn't be here without it.
► Drunk - Kylie Minogue ♦ A song from one of my favourite artists. This serves as the eccentric side of my personality. People who know me are aware that I am kind of weird sometimes, when I first heard this song I was obsessed with how unusual and trance-like it is, it's beautiful, strange and deep all at the same time. "I'm not happy drunk till I'm drunken"
► Das Me - Brooke Candy ♦ This might seem like an odd choice, but it represents the other half of my odd personality. This represents the 'don't give a ****' side of me. I love female rap, trashy, dance, party music and I can get very messy at times. Sometimes I just like to be a dick and have a cocky attitude, I love the empowering confidence songs like this give you, just being a mess and overly sexual. Jiggle ya ****.
This song is about having that one important & great time of your life & NEVER forgetting it. This represents me because I savor important times in my life & never forget them
This song represents me because no matter what I live my life to the fullest. No matter what, who, or how I never let it get in my way & keep Livin life without blockades of any sort

ANTHEM No. 1
Raise Your Glass by P!NK
What's the Dealeo?
P!nk has always been a huge influence on my life. Her positive energy and humor really inspire me to become better as a human, to live more, to laugh more and to give more. Raise Your Glass is probably one of my favorite song because of it's care-free vibe and comical lyrics. Lines like: "So raise your glass if you are wrong, in all the right ways" help me embrace my flaws, celebrate and appreciate them actually. The humorous lyrics and I-don't-give-a-**** attitude is really a great pick me up and it really describes who I am in real life; A Happy, humorous and confident person.
ANTHEM No. 2
If I Was God by NATALIA KILLS
Heartbeat, Soul, Honest
If I Was God is one of Natalia Kills underrated gems. When Natalia is being discussed I rarely see this song being mentioned. The song really talks about two things that have circulate my mind: love and war. Lyrics that talk about love stripped from the glorified items of life like "Would you love me, if you found out I never had no clothes, cars, money." really touch you and make you realise that all that matters in a relationship is the love connection between the two partners and not all the fancy layers which are blown out in a split second. And other lyrics like: "If I was God, what would I change? love, wars, lies, money." really make you ask that question: if you were God what you change? and there's so much to be changed with the world. A song like this shows what kind of lover I am: a kind, deep and non-superficial lover who cares only for the connection. Nothing but the connection.
ANTHEM No. 3
Holiday by GREEN DAY
Our Lives On Holiday
The American Idiot album is probably one of my favorite rock albums and Holiday is one of the highlights and my favorite Green Day song. The rebellious feel and the aggresiveness really make me sad about what our world has come to. It shows how people have all started to look and sound alike because it's what's cool and what makes you better looking when all of it is one big lie and especially stated in the chorus "I beg to dream and differ from the hollow lies". I know sending this song is a risk because ATRL isn't that interesting in rock music but it's a song that describes how I am: a rebellious person who doesn't really agree with the norm and rejects the status qo.

I chose this song because i'm known for not taking ******** from anyone. I don't care if i'm in a relationship with you or i'm friends with you, once you lie to me or give me some BS that's it.You're cut off. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rBGi...e_gdata_player
I chose Love Into The Light because of the hook. I feel like this world in general is full of hate and i don't like that. I'm actually sick of it. Why can't people just leave people alone? The amount of violence that happens in this world is ridiculous People getting shot for being gay, walking down the street minding their business, about to make it in the music business (Lil Snupe), and pure jealousy I'm 100% here for world peace. Just let love back into the light. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vdrq...e_gdata_player
I chose this song because it's a fun/energetic song and i'm a fun/energetic person. I make sure i have fun with everything i do because life is literally to short! Why sit around being miserable when you can be at a club poppin' bottles and forget about the stress?

Rihanna is also my favorite artist due to the carefree aesthetic that we both share. This song shows my love for current stars, pop culture, and hit songs (the reason why I'm a member here on ATRL).

'Bout to hop on the bar, put it all on my card tonight, yeah.
Might be mad in the morning but you know we goin' hard tonight
It's getting coyote ugly up in here, no tyra
It's only up from here, no downward spiral

▲▼ Maroon 5 - Sunday Morning (from Songs About Jane)
Lyrics
Sunday morning rain is falling
Steal some covers, share some skin
And clouds are shrouding us in moments unforgettable
You twist to fit the mold that I am in
But things just get so crazy, living life gets hard to do
And I would gladly hit the road, get up and go if I knew
That someday it would lead me back to you
That someday it would lead me back to you, oh
That may be all I need
In darkness she is all I see
Come and rest your bones with me
I'm driving slow on Sunday morning
And I never want to leave
My fingers trace your every outline, yeah
Paint a picture with my hands, no, no
And back and forth we sway like branches in a storm
Change of weather, still together when it ends, oh
That may be all I need
In darkness she is all I see
Come and rest your bones with me
I'm driving slow on Sunday morning
And I never want to leave, yeah
Oh oh yeah
But things just get so crazy, living life gets hard to do
And Sunday morning rain is falling and I'm calling out to you
Singing someday it will bring me back to you, yeah
Find a way to bring myself back home to you
And you may not know
That may be all, all I, all I need
Oh, in darkness she is all, all I, I see
And now come and rest your bones with me, yeah
Driving slow, driving slow
Now yeah yeah yeah, oh yeah yeah yeah
Oh yeah yeah yeah, oh yeah yeah yeah
Oh yeah yeah yeah, oh yeah yeah
There's a flower in your hair
And I'm a flower in your hair, oh oh
Oh yeah yeah, oh yeah yeah
Oh yeah yeah
Sunday morning rain
On Sunday morning, yeah yeah
On Sunday morning, oh oh oh oh
I'll be home, I'll be
◄ When I'm not listening to music from the "pop girls", I like to listen to midtempos and slow songs that just feel effortless. "Sunday Morning" by Maroon 5 just has a very easy-to-listen-to vibe that really pleases me. Yet again, this song shows how I'm a relatively carefree, easy-to-talk-to person who really just loves having a good time. Adam Levine's crooning voice and the light, energetic production also make this song representative of my personality.
►"Read All About It Pt. III" by Emile Sandé symbolizes the more dynamic side of my personality. For so long, I was afraid of being myself for fear of what others would think of me (especially in the "cookie cutter" town that I live in). I filtered my thoughts and opinions to what everyone else would think was normal or acceptable. However, I recently realized that to be happy and to get people to like you, you simply need to be yourself. Now, I'm not afraid to speak my mind because I realize that all people were granted a voice for a reason; not to be timid, but to show who their true colors, ideas, and opinions.
▲▼ Emeli Sandé - Read All About It Pt. III (from Our Version of Events)
Lyrics
You've got the words to change a nation
But you're biting your tongue
You've spent a life time stuck in silence
Afraid you'll say something wrong
If no one ever hears it how we gonna learn your song?
So come on, come on
Come on, come on
You've got a heart as loud as lions
So why let your voice be tamed?
Maybe we're a little different
There's no need to be ashamed
You've got the light to fight the shadows
So stop hiding it away
Come on, come on
I wanna sing, I wanna shout
I wanna scream 'til the words dry out
So put it in all of the papers,
I'm not afraid
They can read all about it
Read all about it, oh
Oh-oh-oh
Oh-oh-oh
Oh-oh-oh
Oh-oh-oh
Oh-oh-oh
Oh-oh-oh
At night we're waking up the neighbours
While we sing away the blues
Making sure that we remember, yeah
Cause we all matter too
If the truth has been forbidden
Then we're breaking all the rules
So come on, come on
Come on, come on,
Let's get the TV and the radio
To play our tune again
It's 'bout time we got some airplay of our version of events
There's no need to be afraid
I will sing with you my friend
Come on, come on
I wanna sing, I wanna shout
I wanna scream 'til the words dry out
So put it in all of the papers,
I'm not afraid
They can read all about it
Read all about it, oh
Oh-oh-oh
Oh-oh-oh
Oh-oh-oh
Oh-oh-oh
Oh-oh-oh
Oh-oh-oh
Yeah, we're all wonderful, wonderful people
So when did we all get so fearful?
Now we're finally finding our voices
So take a chance, come help me sing this
Yeah, we're all wonderful, wonderful people
So when did we all get so fearful?
And now we're finally finding our voices
Just take a chance, come help me sing this
I wanna sing, I wanna shout
I wanna scream 'til the words dry out
So put it in all of the papers,
I'm not afraid
They can read all about it
Read all about it, oh
Oh-oh-oh
Oh-oh-oh
Oh-oh-oh

I wanna sing, I wanna shout
I wanna scream 'til the words dry out
So put it in all of the papers,
I'm not afraid
They can read all about it

▼This trinity symbolizes several different facets of my personality as well as my love for all things pop culture. It contains three of my favorite artists whose music has truly influenced my life. EARTH, WIND & FIRE | "SEPTEMBER"
IF THERE WAS EVER A SONG THAT GETS ME IN A GOOD MOOD NO MATTER WHAT HAPPENS, IT'S THIS SONG. I'D LIKE TO THINK THAT THIS SONG COULD LIFT ANYONE'S SPIRITS; IT'S FUN TO DANCE TO AND TO SING TO. IT'S A SONG THAT WARMS MY HEART LIKE NO OTHER PIECE OF MUSIC COULD.
UTADA HIKARU | "PASSION"
PERFECT NAME FOR A SONG THAT DESCRIBES HOW I FEEL FOR MUSIC: PASSION. IT'S BEEN MY PASSION TO CREATE MUSIC FOR THE LONGEST TIME; I'VE WRITTEN SO MANY SONGS, I'VE LOST COUNT, AND I'VE CREATED SO MANY BEATS, I COULD MAKE TEN ALBUMS WORTH OF MATERIAL. MY ULTIMATE GOAL IS TO MAKE MUSIC THAT COULD BE LOVED BY DIFFERENT GENERATIONS OF PEOPLE; IT WAS THIS WOMAN AND THIS SONG THAT LED ME TO BELIEVE THAT I COULD ACCOMPLISH SUCH A FEAT WITH MY OWN HANDS. SHE GAVE ME STRENGTH TO BELIEVE IN MY PASSION.
JORDIN SPARKS | "ONE STEP AT A TIME"
MY DREAM IS TO MAKE A SONG THAT INSPIRES THE WAY THIS SONG INSPIRED ME. THIS GIRL, JORDIN SPARKS, BECAME THE YOUNGEST EVER IDOL WINNER AND STARRED IN A MOVIE ALONGSIDE WHITNEY HOUSTON ALL FROM FOLLOWING HER DREAMS. I FEEL IF I FOLLOW HER EXAMPLE ON NEVER GIVING UP, I CAN ACHIEVE MY GOALS IN MY LIFE AND MAKE MY DREAMS COME TRUE.

This song was one of the reasons why I fell in love with pop music.
I was never interested in music until 2008, but then I started watching music channels like MTV/MusicMusic and discovered artists like Britney, Gaga, Rihanna, Katy and P!nk. They made me love pop music, and they're the main reason why I created an account in ATRL.
Quote:
This song reflects my relationship with music, but especially the phrase "find your freedom in the music."
Music is incredibly important in my life, especially in the roughest moments. It understands me when people don't, It can pick me up when I'm sad, It can give me comfort when I feel lonely. I would be lost without music in my life.
Quote:
This song reflects my personality.
For a long time, I was worried about what people might think about me, but then I realized that I need to be me, even if everyone else hate me for that.
I used to join in on shadings and draggings on ATRL but I am a changed man now. I realized that hating is stupid because it only suggests that you don't have the mentality to understand people and their different tastes in music, in artists and in a lot of other things. I stan for peace now. I believe that there are always two sides to things: a good side and a bad side.
You just have to choose which side you will see
Different
Creep - Radiohead
I have been bashed a lot on ATRL for being a creep, freak, psycho and even the devil. But I don't complain. I just feel bad for the people who do not get that I was raised differently and have different views regarding incest, pedophillia, gerantophilia and killing people. But unlike Radiohead, I don't wish I was special, I am this way for a reason and I will continue being this way
Vulnerable
Everybody Hurts - R.E.M
I am depressed a lot. I was hesitant on including this in my trinity but I feel like this is an essential part of me and something that will help people understand me better. I have been on medication for the past few months and I hope I feel so much better soon

I've never resonated with an artist as strongly as I have with Britney Spears, so it's only right she be included in my "Me" Trinity. This song expresses perfectly where I am right now as a person and even as an ATRL Member. The song's chorus begins with the following: "I'm just a crazy kind of girl / I'll tell it to the world / I've just begun having my fun (yeah) / Inside me there's something I found..." . I've just begun having MY fun. There’s SO much more for me to do and see in my life and I've been finding out more about me more and more. Plus, I've only been on ATRL for one year, so I've just begun having my fun on here too.
2. The Fame - Lady Gaga.
This song perfectly describes me. I live for THE FAME. It's not about REAL fame. It's about internalized fame. The feeling that I am a superstar without the actual celebrity status. I LIVE for that feeling of fame within me that I express shamelessly. I know that this fame isn't actually real in my life but in MY world, it sure as hell is. And this song encompasses that feeling better than any other. Plus, Gaga's my fave second to Britney, so I NEED to include her.
3. Honey - Mariah Carey.
This particular track is about a craving for something [or someone], an obsession, a desire. When I listen to this song, I FEEL Mariah's utter desire for whatever it is she wants and that's the same way I feel when I want something. It never goes away and I won't get over it till it's mine. Not to mention, this song also has what I love the most about the music I listen to: soothing, sweet vocals; a fresh, catapulting production; and a fantastic hook. A masterpiece.

So, as I am a huge Kelly fan I wanted to include one of her songs in my first challenge. I think it describes the best way how I have a dark side (that I am afraid to show), like everyone and if you show it to someone and trust them, but they may betray you in any possible way. I know that maybe it's not the exact meaning of the song, but that is what it means to me. The video is about Kelly trying to enter in the dark side of everyone and being the one they should count on.
2. Skylar Grey - Invisible
I think I know like two songs of Skylar or something, but I found this one very touching to me. It's about feeling/being invisible and being insecure some times about it and do some things to get noticed and that you will regret in the future. The video describes the best my feelings about loneliness and getting noticed and Skylar tries everything to get noticed but she is not noticed.
3. Coldplay - Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall
I'm not a Coldplay fan, but I found this song really good to describe me. It may sound like a self-empowerment song in the last lyrics, but I don't find it like this comparing the song to the others. It's about me because I like to sing my heart out whenever I feel hurt and I love the metaphor between the tears and the waterfalls, which I find pretty true. The video also shows this with colors and everything to describe the best any sentiments.

This song is one of my all time favorite songs. She touches on the subjects of rejecting your religious background, hating your hometown, and just being a lost soul in general. These three things are all problems that I struggle with in my daily life. The song has melancholy feel, but at the same time is kind of light and happy, which are ways that I believe accurately describe my personality.
Macklemore and Ryan Lewis f/ Wanz- Thrift Shop
I'm a cheap bitch. I hate spending ridiculous amounts of money on clothes, etc. Most of the clothes that I wear are from Goodwill, which I am completely unashamed of. I love the idea of going to a store and buying clothes that are sometime decades old, and that I can guarantee that no one else has. Some people in my school actually refer to me as Macklemore But apparently I'm good at thrift shopping seeing as I won Best Dressed last year.
Christina Aguilera- Not Myself Tonight
Although to people that aren't my friends or teachers I appear to be this very sweet, semi-quiet student, once I get around my friends I turn in the personification of this song. Loud, trashy, dirty, etc. On occasion I like to get a little bit crazy and go a little wild, as a guilty pleasure, so not only does the content of this song match me, but I feel like this song is a guilty pleasure of LOTS of people on this site.

About the musical part, Sleeping With Sirens stand for my love for slightly heavier music, Ellie represents pop/electronic music and Modest Mouse embody the indie bands that I've loved for so many years now.
But the important part of this challenge is how those songs relate to and represent me as a person and poster on ATRL, so read on to find out more about my personal "me" trinity!
Sleeping With Sirens | Feel
I used to be a ghost floating aimlessly, so they couldn't see
What I think hurts the most, I felt like it made me hate me
But now I feel so alive for the first time
I can be who I am
This song describes my life story as well as my history on ATRL so far, I couldn't have expressed it better in my own words if I tried. Both irl and on ATRL, I used to be afraid to show my true self and who I really am because I didn't want to be an outsider with my different taste and interests. It made me unhappy with myself though, I was always fighting myself and built up a lot of negative energy that dragged me down. It took a while for me to realize that I couldn't go on like that, and through music and my faves I finally learned to accept myself and be happy with who I am. It was incredibly liberating and positive. Same goes for ATRL, where I slowly started coming out of my shell and don't feel the need to hide my personality and faves anymore. So, in every sense of the word, in the real world and online, I feel Free now
Ellie Goulding | In My City
You gave me wings and I used them, I used them on my youth
You gave me wings and I used them, and I won’t lose them
[But] I can feel my dreams when I’m in my city
And that’s where I’ll stay
This song talks about my relationship with my hometown. Growing up, I always hated it because I felt like there was nothing here for me; it's always been my dream to move far away one day. I already lived at the other side of the country for a year on my own, soon I'll be in the UK for 6 months and I also love to travel because I like seeing the world and discovering different places. However over the years and all the times I left my home and returned to it, I suddenly started to appreciate it more. I realized that no matter how many times and how far I go away, I still always feel connected to my city and my roots here, and it's something I end up missing and need to go back to in order to be at peace and reconnect with myself. It's one of the most important things I've learned in life so far, and this song expresses this feeling very nicely which is something you rarely find in songs, so that's why I thought it would be an interesting choice.
Modest Mouse | Float On
Bad news comes don't you worry even when it lands
We'll all float on okay, we'll all float on alright
Don't worry, even if things get heavy
We'll all float on alright
I'm closing with a song that both represents me in real life and on ATRL again. It's an uplifting track with the message that no matter what happens to you and how bad it gets, life goes on and bad news will always be followed by good news. I've been through some tough times and I never wanted to believe that life can be good again after you're down. But through the years, I've made that experience many times and today it's my life motto: I try to take things as they are instead of dwelling on them, I don't worry too much and just float on, trusting that things will be okay in the end. Here on ATRL, that translates to me promoting positivity in my posts instead of hate and insults, as well as cheering up those who need it or encourage them, be it as a judge in games, as a fellow contestant or simply as a friend. I always have kind words for anyone who might need them and I'm glad when I can make others feel better and pass on some good vibes

1. Coldplay - "Fix You"
Everybody has bad moments. Somebody close to you dying or just not close to you anymore.
Luckily when you're sad, there is someone who can help you, can make you happy,
someone as your family or your friends.
I had bad moments in my life, but there was always someone that made me happy,
who gave me hopes and made me to see the life in a positive way.
2. Avril Lavigne - "Here's to Never Growing Up"
Really, I don't want to grow up. Life is so good right now, I don't want more responsibilities and problems.
I want to go to high school, go out with friends, have fun, listen to music etc.
I'm 17, and these (maybe some more) are the best years of the life, probably.
I am actually very juvenile, I love being with kids and making stupid things and jokes!
3. Bruno Mars - "The Lazy Song"
I'm very, very lazy. I love staying in my bad for hours listening to music.
For me, I'd stay at home watching TV and listening music for days.
As the lyrics says, I could be much better in school but I'm too lazy
and so I do the necessary. I'm proud of being lazy too.
If every person's life became a movie, I'm convinced that Mariah's catalogue could provide at least one song to each accompanying soundtrack. This one would be in mine. Close My Eyes hits really close to home for me -- it has always resonated with me and reminded me of certain things I have experienced in my life so far. I wouldn't wish the pain of some of those hardships on anyone, but at the same time I know in my heart of hearts that I wouldn't want to trade my experiences for anyone else's. Mariah's talents are unparalleled and I will always appreciate her for her abilities to not only write about touchy subjects so candidly but to sing about them so beautifully as well.
I do love to revel in my bitchiness sometimes, and, as mood fluctuates, so too does my personality. I'm not always completely well-rounded, but the conclusion I'm coming to is that maybe that's fine. After all, in the immortal words of Hilary Duff, "I'm a million contradictions! Sometimes I make no sense! Sometimes I'm perfect! Sometimes I'm a mess!" Let it suffice to say that this song does it *just* a little bit better. (God, '90s alt-rock was so liberating.)
Could I really attempt to define myself with just three songs without including the woman who, perhaps more than anyone, lights my darkest days and makes my spirit soar? This song, though not necessarily my favourite in her entire catalogue, is probably my favourite moment on what is probably my favourite album in it, the illustrious and incomparable Erotica. The reason I'm going with this particular track is because I too am in a constant state of searching; I'm hungry for light, laughter, and the whole world, and I won't be satisfied until I've had my fill of all of the above. The middle eight is especially representative of who I am -- a little weathered and perhaps a bit too hungry for my own good, but also resilient, strong, and determined enough to always manage to pluck up enough strength to pick myself up and keep on going no matter what setbacks I encounter.
The common feature about all of this three songs, is that they are one of the most loved and appreciated songs in my life.
Can't Hold Us is one of the songs I will never forget. One of the many songs I know by heart, but this is special. It gets me everytime I listen to it, that melody and that rapping. Through one of the most toughest periods of my life, this song was smashing and it was here for me everytime I wanted to relax.

Diamonds, meanwhile, shows my evolution as a stan for one of the greatest people in my life, Rihanna. Like many of us, I didn't like the song at the beginning, but with every next listen I had, I was evolutioning as a stan and realised that the song is great and one of the best, if not the best, Rihanna has ever recorded.

Find light in the beautiful sea
I choose to be happy
Wild, as the last song I chose as a part of my holy trinity somehow shows my goal in my life. To live my life free, don't worry about the others and their talking. If you are proud of yourself and believe in you, the world can be completely yours. Oh and that line by Big Sean 'All the awards, bras, cars, wall to wall / Is all a mirage / And I could lose it all tonight / Just to show the world I could do it twice / This is my life', I think is completely genius.

If this is a dream, won't open my eyes,
Am I asleep? No, I'm alive
I just can't believe that this is my life
In my fantasy we're running wild

I'd like to start my song trinity with my favorite song of all time, of my favorite band of all time, singed by one of the hottest man alive. I'm talking about Maroon 5's 'This Love'. This song represents two of the most important things in life, which would complement each other: love and sex.
Getting a little more personal, we have Kelly Clarkson with her best song, that really makes me feel a lot of things every time I hear it, the emotion in Kelly's voice, it's just something that I relate a lot for many reasons, the feeling of having to be different from who I really am just to make my parents proud. This song describes exactly how I felt during those hard times, and musically I love songs cappable of waking feelings in me and bringing me different kinds of emotion just like this song does.
And complete my trinity, probably the song related with the most important part of my life: my career. As a med student, it's easily to talk you about pills. I know how much the can help you, but all the effects they cause are also huge. This could also work as a metaphore for my life since I started studying, I have went through a lot of things, but at the end of the end I'm happy about most of them happenning, because they all made me grow as a person. Even if many times in my life, I've felt the opposte way

For the first song, I thought I would go with a great philosophy of mine. I've always looked at life as you should enjoy it and try your best to always be happy, even through there is turmoil and stress. And the message of the song is that even if you're having a total **** day, just forget it and dance to Joy Division, and eventually you'll feel happy. In turn, I think it sums up a large part of how I view things and how that ultimately effects me.
Lieberstraum- Franz Liszt
For the second song, I chose to go with something that describes more of my actions. I'm actually quite distant in real life. But when I grow close to people, I become really passionate around them. And I see the world with a romantic view And the composer of this song wrote the music with an airy loving tone to it. Plus, it's something straight from the romanticism era of music, when everything was written with a slight bit of naiveness to it, along with infusing it with passion.
Stan- Eminem
For my last song, I went with something that describes me more as a member. It's really just as simple as I stan for a lot of people.
And there might be some symbolic meaning with Eminem being the first person I ever hardcore stanned for. Seriously...there was a point in my life I knew his shoe size.

Machine Gun Kelly ft. Ester Dean - Invincible
Invincible is a song in which represents my transition from 'Pop' music to Hip-Hop/Rap. I had always HATED Hip-Hop. I just couldn't click to it. However once hearing this song, on one of my favourite shows, which was a WWE/Wrestling event, I instantly fell in love with it. This made me check out this certain artist, and to a surprise I began to use more & more of his songs and along the way found more artists similar to him whose songs I began to like and enjoy. Thanks to my love of Wrestling & my love of this song, which helped me become a fan and stan for an artist whose genre isn't pop.
Katy Perry - I Kissed A Girl
"I kissed a girl & I liked it. The taste of her cherry Chapstick." This. This was the song in which began my sudden stanning for Katy Perry. I had NEVER really took interest in artists before. Like I would listen to their music, but nothing else. However, Katy Perry had the look, the sound & the personality in which appealed to me. She was the very first artist in which I VOCALLY to friends/family began to stan for. I never admitted to anyone who I liked, in fear of being 'picked' on for liking a pop girl. Why I began to with her, I still don't know, but it has to be something special to be. If it wasn't for her releasing 'I Kissed A Girl', I don't think I would have taken this much interest in her
K-Ci & JoJo - All My Life
This is a simple reason on why it's part of my trinity. It brings back the happy memories of my life at work. Me & my manager when closing, whenever hearing this on the radio, would put it up on full blast, and sing to it loudly whilst closing the store. We would use the broom/mop handles and pretend they were microphones. Whenever I hear this song, it just takes me back to those times, where I wouldn't give a **** about anything or life, and just have fun. Yes, it may be corny, but I had was close to my manager (as I saw her as a best friend) & this was one of the things in which helped us to this day become such great friends.
There's this bittersweet melancholy that I can greatly relate to with So Happy I Could Die. The song represents the fear of addiction yet describes the surreal feeling that comes from it. When you're drunk, there's little to no care of your surroundings. Inhibitions are lowered, expectations go out the window and the only care in the world is to have fun. The eery production only adds to the mystique and other worldly vibe, almost like the haziness one experiences while under the influence. Sometimes, I find myself wanting to escape reality by getting drunk and just letting go but in the back of mind, I know it doesn't solve all my problems and this happy place I bring myself to is only a temporary solution.
The song is about liking someone who doesn't like you back and I think we've all been there at one point, but what really struck me was that if I reversed the situation, the song probably has closer connection to me and my fear of love. I have on many occasions distanced myself in a relationship because I was afraid to commit and love the other person. So instead of being the heartbroken, I became the heartbreaker Cher beautifully sings about and even mentions that one day it'll be your turn to go through what you put the other person through.
There aren't many words in the song except for a few lines at the very beginning. A male voice is heard talking about not being afraid of dying but after he has finished speaking, there's a silent moment and although you hear nothing, the official lyrics include this unheard of line: "If you can hear this whispering you are dying. I never said I was frightened of dying." The fear of death has always been something in the back of my mind, whether it's my own or someone else's. Even though there are no words, the vocals go up and down, illustrating the struggles we go through life, all of it leading to our death. By the end, you realize that words are not needed to understand what the song represents and you know there's nothing to fear because death is imminent and instead look forward to the "Great Gig in the Sky".
That about wraps it up for our entries into the first round. 8 of you will be cut from the final listing of ATRL's Holy Trinity, and 26 of the 32 ended up submitting for this round. Thanks to everyone who chose to participate - top 18 will be announced no later than Thursday! We will make an announcement as to when we are planning the ceremony, so stay tuned!
I'm starting to feel I should have kept mine with one sort of genre. I was thinking the difference in genres between my songs would also show how I love everything in music and all that. Oh well. Hopefully mine is still good.
