Wait guys, are they really changing the formula again? I really hope not oh no
I was joking earlier, but in past times, they have changed rules when we have had to wait this long (letting old songs chart, implementing Spotify, and the most recent -- implementing YouTube).
Maybe it's just a slow day for them, but you never know
As of this week, all current singles with sales less than 99 cents will not be counted for charting purposes. Avril Lavigne drops off the chart with this new rule change.
All this rule change speculation reminds me of the well-deserved rule change that caused Britney to miss out on another #1 album in favor of The Eagles. I was kiied out.

Caused Britney to miss out on ANOTHER #1 album? That was her ONLY album not to get #1. Instead it got #2, and was not well deserved at all. She should've been #1 for sure.
What if they do decide to exclude 69 cents from now on, though?
With how they dragged Avril like that, I wouldn't be surprised if that were what they're doing...
That'd be lame though. If an item is sold for sale in a department store, the purchase still counts. It's analogous to this situation on the charts. A sale is a sale. As long as it's not ridiculously priced low like $0.01. IMO the rule should be anything $0.50 or above goes.
