I kinda disagree with you , some1 with Mariah's vocal ability will never have a problem rearranging a few melodies on an already-hard song .

What changed her voice is getting older and overuse throughout the first 6 years of her career, AND being the studio 24/7 (and u know she's a perfectionist so she's belt the same sentence over and over until it sounds perfect)

anyways , Mariahs "old" voice used to be so 90's ballad-y kinda voice (it was divine now) , now it has so much character and a distinct tone to it, TEOM is a proof of that

Yesterday at the bus stop , I was lsning to "I Wish You Well" , and when the first whistle came I could not control myself .. I rewound the song and starting with the whistle then BELTED the rest of the song!! ..

I was like "THE LORD THE LORD IS MY SALVATION *finger in ear* , YAAAAAASS!!!"

then I turned my head to find a black girl behind me and I wanted to puke my heart out ..

I played it cool though , I sang for a little while and then lowered my voice until I was silent .. fml

I could not shine through the rain .. damn stupid lurking behind me

I said one of the reason, she always belt higher notes than the studio version, I kinda agree that she overused her voice since her debut but in Daydream case her voice sounded thinner than her previous eras, and the main reason is actually her vocal nodules

anyway she still can sing and belt and she is still the VOCALIST with great singing technique

OMG YES !! I Wish You Well and Fly Like A Bird !!! however I do not DARE to try to belt out My Saving Grace the other ones are way easier .. I get My Saving Grace 1/10 times ok

I love love love singing "I Still Believe" .. It's one of my Favs !! only problem I have is with in the beginning .. those notes r too low for me , but the rest is just <3<3<3
