Movement is the debut album by New Order, released in November 1981 on Factory Records. At the time of its release, the album was not particularly well received by critics or consumers, only peaking at #30 on the UK albums chart. (By contrast, Closer, an album the band had released just over a year before as Joy Division, reached #6.) Over the years the album has built a strong fanbase for its emotional and musical link to Joy Division, as well as its natural evolution on the other hand. Retrospective reviews for Movement have been very positive.
I like the New Order songs I've heard but I can't say I recognize anything from this tracklist. Might have to listen later.

Faster Than the Speed of Night is a Platinum-plus album by Bonnie Tyler released in 1983. Her fifth album, and her most successful, it includes her classic global #1 hit "Total Eclipse of the Heart". The album entered the UK album charts at #1, a position it held for one week. It later reached #4 in the United States. Tyler performed the song live on the 1984 Grammy Awards, nominated alongside Linda Ronstadt, Donna Summer, Irene Cara, and Sheena Easton.
The album was produced by Jim Steinman, who also contributed the songs "Total Eclipse of the Heart" and "Faster Than the Speed of Night." Both were originally intended for the follow-up album to Meat Loaf's hugely successful Bat Out Of Hell, as was "Making Love (Out of Nothing At All)," which would get recorded by Air Supply. However, because Steinman and Meatloaf were not on speaking terms at that point, the first two tracks were given to Tyler (she would eventually record a version of "Making Love (Out of Nothing at All") as well).
I haven't heard this either but definitely know some of the singles.... They're very cheesy but I can't decide if it works or not lol. I understand the appeal though.
Raw Like Sushi is the debut album of rapper Neneh Cherry, released May 2, 1989 on Virgin Records.
The lyrics on the album are sometimes autobiographical, talking about school years. They are also influenced by Neneh's motherhood. Others speak of women allegedly trying to steal a man from another woman. All players and programmers are credited in this album, however Cameron McVey, Cherry's husband, appears as Booga Bear. Massive Attack's Robert Del Naja co-wrote "Manchild", and fellow member Andrew Vowles aka DJ Mushroom performs on "Kisses on the Wind", "The Next Generation" and "So Here I Come". "My Bitch" is a vocal duet with Gilly G.
Well this is the first album on my list to make it! It's a very good album full of bops that combine 80s dancepop, freestyle, and hip-hop. The lead single is especially great.
Colour by Numbers is the second album by the New Wave band Culture Club, released in late 1983. The album has sold more than 10 million copies worldwide and is certified quadruple platinum by the RIAA, thanks to the hit single "Karma Chameleon", which reached the top of the singles charts in several countries. It was ranked #96 on Rolling Stone magazine's list of the 100 Best Albums of the 1980s and is also included in the book 1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die.
Another album where I'm only familiar with the singles! They're pretty good but maybe just not my type. Ohwell I have no complaints with this being here.
Slippery When Wet is the third studio album by Bon Jovi. It was released on August 18, 1986 through Mercury Records in North America and Vertigo Records internationally. The album was produced by Bruce Fairbairn. Recording sessions took place between January and July 1986 at Little Mountain Sound Studios in Vancouver, Canada.
Slippery When Wet was an instant commercial success. The album features songs that are today considered Bon Jovi's most well-known tracks, such as "You Give Love a Bad Name", "Livin' on a Prayer" and "Wanted Dead or Alive".
The album spent eight weeks at #1 on the Billboard 200. It was named the top selling album of 1987 by Billboard. Slippery When Wet is the band's best-selling album to date, with an RIAA certification of twelve times platinum, and over 28 million copies sold worldwide. The album is featured in the book 1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die.
Well, if you have nothing nice to say, don't say anything at all!
