It stands for audience impression, and it's basically in the simplest term how many people listened to the song over the past day.
The 1.275 is in millions, so 1,275,000 people.
The (0.299) is in thousands, or hundred thousands specifically.
So yesterday 299,000 people heard I'm Out on the radio.
Now, it doesn't mean 299,000 stations have played it, because each station has a specific amount of people listening to it, and the more spins the higher the AI.
Stations like Hot 97 (rhythmic format) and Power 105 have the highest AI in the country (for Urban & Rhythmic) because they're broadcasted in NYC.
I dig it.
