Honestly, now that the song has been out for a while, I think HTNGU is one of her more substandard lead singles, but I still bop to it on a constant basis, so don't call me a flop fan y'all

Epic is doing it right though.
I've always thought that labels should release the most radio-friendly song on the album as the lead no matter how generic it is. Even if it doesn't represent the album much. You need to create momentum and get your name out again. Radio play is the best way to do this.
Single #2 should be a bit more risky and should represent the album better.
Single #3 should be the best song on the album and the song with the most potential. If done right, the momentum will be created for Single #3 to smash the hardest.
Both Katy, and P!nk pulled this strategy off well.
The chad duet will likely be given the Single #3 spot, hopefully Avril & Epic can create momentum so it can be massive
