Anyway, a real confession. I wish she had done something like Dignity meets Original Doll instead of Blackout. I still feel cheated that we never got Original Doll, since it was shaping up to be her best work.

I still think Blackout took a colossal dump on what would of been from OD based on the leaks. I personally ADORED the entire Original Doll concept of being a manufactured product but still being the one and only, the original HBIC; so artistically, visually, and thematically it definitely would been her best. But not musically.

And I don't feel cheated about it. I think it was ultimately Britney's idea to scrap it not only because of her parental duties, but because she found greater inspiration for Blackout and used that instead.

Definitely. Secretly blessed that we didn't have to experience the sheer floppage that Mona Lisa would have been on the Hot 100.

Well, you said your favorite albums are pre-Blackout. Those didn't really have that much substance aside from cute teenage-themed songs (minus ITZ, of course).

Rebellion would flopped too. But I see the album sales doing well.

However at this point in her career sales don't matter anymore.

Well, we got Circus. It had plenty of diverse themes for the most part. It had OFU, Quicksand, UY, SG, and MB. Then the more in-your-face ones like Mannequin & Womanizer. Then the songs about fame: Circus & KTL. And then the sex songs like Phonography, L&L, and I suppose Blur could be considered that since it insinuates that Britney slept with a men when she was drunk the night before.

Not at all. Many albums that flopped on that charts has had more impact than albums that were hugely successful. Sales don't mean much.

Sales mean a lot, let's not deny that to feel better if Britney flops again. Britney is a mainstream artist, not an indie singer.

I don't say it to justify flops. I genuinely don't care. I listen to the album the day I buy it and that's when I pick my favorites. How they perform doesn't change that.

I don't even follow charts. I can't even name 10% of the stats you guys know.
