I don't think the album needs a discount however I agree that discounting 'Mirrors' could push it to #1 on the Hot 100 but it could also hurt its longevity.

For some reason I think the lead single from part II will go #1.

They could always pull a WIWYM and discount it during its peak on radio, which should be in a 2-3 weeks. Hopefully it just holds within the Top 5 of iTunes until then. Is the radio edit out on iTunes? I thought that would be some sort of an advantage for people that want to buy that version instead.
