It's a movie theme (and a Bond one at that, and those almost never do that well). It's not the lead single off her next album.
And like someone else said it's sale are impressive considering it wasn't a radio friendly track and didn't even have a music video for rotation on music channels, etc. Before they took it down, the original LYRIC VIDEO posted on her YouTube channel had about 100,000,000 views and the current Vevo one has 60,000,000 views. That's more than most music videos from so called "relevant" artists. It also got to number 1 on iTunes and broke the record for number 1 in most countries at the time.
And let us not forget the fact it won every award that is possible for a song to win, including AN Oscar (and it will definitely win the Grammy next year). With that Oscar, it became the first Bond theme to win it and the first time an Bond film won an Oscar is nearly 50 years.
Now I know people still have reason to be pressed because she's still steamrolling through everyone and not even trying very hard to do it but don't get it twisted. Skyfall did exactly what it was meant to do and so much more. It was to bring attention to the film, and it did just that, helping it become the highest grossing Bond of all time and as of right now, it's also the most successful Bond theme of all time.
Now who else has managed to do all of that with ONE theme besides Celine? I'll wait.
