The iconic 'Born This Way Ball' TURNS 1!
- Lady Gaga kicking off the tour in Seoul, South Koreea in front of over 51 thousand fans, marking the 2nd biggest concert ever held there, after Michael Jackson -
One year ago, April 27, one of the most successful tours of all time opened with an amazing performance in Seoul, in front of over 50 thousand people, marking the 2nd biggest concert ever held there.
One year ago, at this time the tour was igniting tremendous commercial success all around the world, selling out massive stadiums in some minutes and crashing ticket selling websites under the pressure of the massive demand.
- Lady Gaga closing the first show of the tour with an amazing performance of ''Marry The Night'', while playing a keytar -
T his is the tour that created controversy already from it's beginning, igniting riots in Asian countries and even forcing Gaga's manager to cancel her show in Indonesia, due to terrorist attack threats, which led to a refund of all the 50 thousand tickets bought over there.
- Lady Gaga performing for over 22 thousand people in Bucharest's biggest square, the Constitution Plaza, on August 16 -
This is the tour which got some of the best critical responses of the past year, being called ''something now unseen, a show that even outperformed Madonna's show in Sofia several years back'' by the Bulgarian press, ''the best show of the year'' by the Lithuanian press, ''the 21st centuries ultimate pop star'' by the Helsinki press. Swedish news corporation Expressen gave the show five stars, believing that "her two and a half hour show is by far the most lavish and eccentric they have ever seen"
- Lady Gaga performing in front of a sold out crowd on the Twickenham Stadium, where she honored 2 back-to-back shows, in front over 100 thousand people -
It's critical praise continued in the UK, where she performed for over 100 thousand people, The Guardian giving the show a 4 out of 5 stars pointing out that "The tightly choreographed hits sound terrific", while The Independent also praised the quality of the show : ''she remains the only modern pop star worthy of being talked about in the same breath as Bowie, and her rivals – Rihanna and Beyoncé – aren't fit to lick Gaga's studded six-inch heels".
- Lady Gaga honoring her show on Stade De France, where she played her biggest crowd ever, over 71 thousand people showing up at the concert -
After her performance on Stade de France, which also was her biggest performance of the tour, playing in front of 71 thousand people and becoming also the youngest artist to do so, Puretrend.com also gave a positive review of the show, commenting that "Attached to a unicorn for her triumphant arrival, she does what she does so well in front of nearly 71,000 people. Better than Madonna and her debacle Olympia, Mother Monster gave fans their money's worth."
- The FNB Stadium in Johannesburg filling up for Lady Gaga's performance in front of 57 thousand people -
The tour, already grossing over $100M by then, hit South Africa at the end of the year, where 97 thousand people got to witness the epicness of it, Johannesburg's publication The New Age giving it 5 stars, stating that "Gaga’s energy teamed with a bevy of spectacular dancers made for an electric show".
- Lady Gaga kicking off the North American leg of the tour in Vancouver, where she played 2 back-to-back shows, in front of over 30 thousand people -
Once the already massive Born This Way Ball Tour hit the US, it continued to impress all critics, The Vancouver Sun praising the show, by stating that ''Unlike Madonna, whose latest Vancouver appearance was dominated by violent imagery...Gaga continued to carry her trademark message of empowerment'', also pointing out that ''the near-sold out concert simply swept you off your feet".
Sadly, the remaining 21 dates of the North American leg had to be cancelled on February 13, while the entire leg was nearly sold out, forcing Ticketmaster to refund over 200 thousand tickets and over $25M in gross.
- One of the last pictures taken of the tour at it's last concert, in Montreal on February 11 -
And now let's wish a very Happy Birthday to one of the most amazing pop tours ever while watching some of the best pictures taken during it:

such an amazing tour! I'm so glad I got to attend the best show from the entire tour, the first show in Antwerp, Belgium The wig, the new additions and lighting, the celebration of Body Revolution, the flawless Black Jesus performance, no Princess Die (It's So Bad That I Could Die), that show was everything

To those pressed coming in here spreading false/netgativity crap, I would've gladly paid for their ticket to go. my mum who hated Gaga loved this show and was left speechless. i migg btwball so much

Critically and commercially acclaimed tour It would have been Gaga's 2nd $200m+ grossing tour if she didn't **** up her hip
