Lord, give me the strength'T not to drag this comment right now as I don't need the wp.
as if you'll say anything good. My opinion, deal with it. Didn't know it would drive someone up the wall so much you can't say/do **** that will do any damage
Every song they had made impact Mariah is no where near them in impact and popularity. They were a force and they disbanded right at the peak of popularity.

No one here denied their impact and popularity. I mean, clearly they wouldn't dare try to call the Beatles 'overrated' unless they had at least a basic knowledge of their career and catalog. They were just trying to say that, while the Beatles' tremendous importance to music history cannot be denied, the quality of their music doesn't live up to the hype. I disagree, of course, but that's just their opinion.
Funny that you'd say that considering Touch my Body went to #1 and Obsessed was a Top 10 hit and they're both the definition of mediocre.

It isn't impossible. She needs top notch material and major promo campaign. If she broke Elvis' record, she can break The Beatles. However, if her recent material is something to go by, then no.
TMB is not mediocre, obsessed is
and thank god it didn't go to #1

You let me down, man. I tried to give you the benefit of the doubt, and you let me down.
No, no one remembers how they made guitar- based bands a permanent staple in popular music. No one remembers how they made it standard for said bands to write and compose their own songs. No one remembers how they (along with the Beach Boys) made the concept album mainstream and helped redefine the LP completely. And there were NO major artists that were influenced by the Beatles, except, you know, the Beach Boys, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Cheap Trick, U2, Queen, Elton John, Oasis, Nirvana, Radiohead, Blur and honestly that's just off the top of my head.

Like, seriously. Get a clue.
like I care if I let you down or not.
You clearly do not understand "remember". You can whine and complain and type an essay's worth of explanations, no one remembers The Beatles' material and barely them themselves. If you want to counter this argument, come back with receipts - otherwise, common sense overrides your argument.
In the music world, of course, but that's clearly not what I'm talking about. None of their songs are instant-memorable hits, like I Will Always Love You for example is something just about everyone has heard and recognizes. The Beatles, however, do not have that.
You can take a seat. I can already feel the fumes from your post .

I'm pretty sure everyone has heard this song
Also just because YOU or a couple people personally don't know the song doesn't mean it isn't well known. Stop the madness

Can Mariah get to that point? Maybe maybe not.
Mariah won't reach that point her music for the past couple years have been trash. Also seeing as "Triumphant" was supposed to be the lead single from this new album. Then I highly doubt she's gonna get 2-3 extra #1's.

There's a difference between 'whining and complaining' and 'calling out posters who say stupid ****'.
By the way, here's a list of artists who have covered Beatles songs:
Alanis Morissette
Alicia Keys
Anne Murray
Billy Joel
David Bowie
Diana Ross
Elton John
Eva Cassidy
Fiona Apple
Jack White
The Jonas Brothers
Michael Jackson
The Muppets
Nirvana
No Doubt
Oasis
Pearl Jam
Phish
Raffi
Red Hot Chili Peppers
S Club 7
Stevie Wonder
U2
Usher
Nope, nobody remembers the Beatles.

I Want to Hold Your Hand, Yesterday, Can't Buy Me Love, Hey Jude, Let It Be, Come Together. And that's just off the top of my head.
And yes, EVERYONE has heard these. "Yesterday" has been performed over 7 million times in the 20th century alone. It's called not being an ignorant putz who thinks that pop girls are the be all end all of music.

PLEASE don't tell me you're resorting to the "U MAD" defense. I'm not mad, I'm just trying to educate you. You should be grateful.
Accusing the other poster of being 'mad'... the last resort of the weak-minded.
