MDNA did not sell very well but as you said albums are not selling as ten years before (it has sold 2 million of copies WW), but let's talk about the MDNA Tour it grossed over 200 millions of dollars, and was ranked as the ninth most successful tour of all-time with no hit-single (something Rihanna never could do). And if you want something else, she performed at the Superbowl on the most watched Half-Time ever. Please don't try to tell something about Madonna when you stan for a girl like Riri.

I don't get why people come after MDNA.

The music oldies' current albums don't sell well compared to the ones in their peak.

MJ's last album barely cracked the 3 mil mark
Paul McCartney's last album hasn't even passed the million mark yet
MDNA is staggering at 1.7
David Bowie's album is free-falling like a rock
etc.

They don't sell well people buy it during the debut week and ditch it afterwards. Rarely ever does it have longevity.
