Oops was great as well, but I don't see what the HUGE deal was about it. The choreography is kinda meh, she's standing in that rotating thing where you can't even see her properly for the most of the performance. Of course she brought the energy, but I think it's the stripping and the outfit what really made it so big.

I see your point. The 2000 performance really is much more about the energy than the coreography itself, Britney was fierce as hell, she showed passion, thirst for the performance, she was on FIRE.
The 2001 performance is all about the incredible coreography. Yes, the setting was also beautiful in the eyes, but the Slave choreo is what makes it actually iconic.
I gotta tell you though, energy >>>>>>>> (black hole) >>>>>> choreography for me. The reason I complain about Britney's performance skills nowadays is she doesn't show the hunger she used to show for performing, not her actual coreography moves.
That said, those are two of her best performances, and for me VMA 2000 >>> VMA 2001.
