That was the only part of the movie that I found scary. I made people watch that scene after I saw that movie like last year. People were freaking out. If only the rest of the movie was that scary.

I agree with you. That was the only part that really creeped me out or stayed with me. The rest of it I found pretty standard, nothing really good or scary. I appreciate them for trying but a lot of it was pretty lame, except for some of the found footage.
That scene is iconic tho. Carrie is not a remotely scary movie, but it is a fantastic supernatural drama. It's so sad though.
I personally love movies like The Poughkeepsie Tapes more because I find the telling of a true crime-style story (real or not) intriguing and love true crime based movies (ie. Zodiac, the basis of murders in Copycat, etc.).
When comparing the characters of the original 'The Evil Dead' and 'Evil Dead', I assumed it was something like this:
Ash = mix of David/Mia; more David in the way they made it seem for around the first 3/4 of the movie.
Cheryl = Mia, definitely.
Scotty = Eric, no argument against it.
Linda = Natalie.
Shelly = Olivia.
