Well that is what happens when you study Whitney's voice like B did growing up. That's also her church influence.
There's nothing else for Mary to sing about. It's not even about her becoming happy. People forget that she sung "happy" songs just as much as she sung the struggle songs. It's just that now there's nothing she can say that she hasn't already gone through.
