My family is old-fashioned and conservative like that. Timeout didnt exist and if you messed up you prepared yourself for a beat down with whatever was nearby. I 100% disagree with that, but it just how it is.
It concerns me people grow up with the idea thinking this is normal because it's not. Talking can actually have a better effect than beating your kid imo. It's just not right doing such horrible things to a harmless lil kid.

These twerking videos and "ratchet" videos make ALL of us look bad and if their father wasn't here for it, I can't blame him. I don't know how I feel about him going about it the way he did though.

All my siblings and I were spanked as little kids when we acted out to enough of a point, but our parents never did it while they were still pissed off and always showed restraint. They also did not have to keep spanking us past the age of 8.

THE TRUTH. Kids these days are acting the way they do because they AREN'T getting checked by their parents. Now THAT is bad parenting. You are your child's parents. NOT their friend. Some people get the two confused somehow. That won't be happening to me and my future family though.
