I can't speak for anyone else, but the smiley comes first. Unless the presentation is stellar, like one or two of you, I'll look to presentation only if I'm having trouble deciding a spot between two people.
At least that's where I'm at right now.
That's how I'm going to judge too. A great presentation is nice and makes it pleasing to the eye, but the challenge is about finding a smiley that will be the next big thing on ATRL and if it fits in posts well.
I did the same thing not every week but sometimes during ANTM and sometimes during Charm School... just like why I voted the way I did and such... usually involved me reviewing everyone's though

Mine was a risk but I went for something that ATRL would find funny and would use themselves (even though it's not perfectly made) (may I add that my smiley is already making rounds in a lot of ATRL threads )
